I have a question about magic bands, how do you get the decorated ones when you book?

I never paid much attention last trip, but now I see all these different options for magic bands and some of them are cute!

So when I booked our package they only offer the plain ones. Is there somewhere everyone is buying the decorated ones? How much?
And how does it get all your information stored to the ones you buy? Are they mailed to you pre-loaded or do you do it when you get to the resort?

You can purchase other magic bands (character ones, themed ones) at the shops on property and from the Disneystore online. They link them to your MDE when you purchase. If you are referring to bedazzled bands with glitter and rhinestones...those are homemade by crafty people. Grab a glue gun and hop to it!

You can also buy decals specifically designed for magicbands, if you just do a Google search I'm sure you'll come up with a bunch of options.

If you have the Shop Parks app a lot of the themed bands are on sale right now.

Do you think since new ones are coming out, we should wait to see what they offer later? Our trip isn't until Halloween. So they link up as soon as I buy them? That's handy!

1. New ones come out all the time.

2. They don't link up as soon as you buy them - you go into your MDE account and link them yourself.

I mean the new style of magic bands, I like the look of them, so if they make decorated bands in the new style, I think we will wait to buy those. I'm not exactly sure how you link them, but I assume there are directions, thanks!

I actually haven't been since they introduced Magic Bands, and I was able to figure out on the app very easily. I can't confirm all the steps right now since I don't have data and I don't have wifi where I am, but it's under My Profile.
