My husbands son and family are considering going to WDW for an OBGYN conference in Nov, which is apparently had at the Boardwalk. They really can't afford to stay there. Is there a way that my step-daughter could get from say the All Stars or Pop Century to the Boardwalk at 8:00 in the morning without taking a Taxi? Is this even possible?

I am sure if there is an EMH at one of the parks she could do the bus thing, but it would be quicker and less hassle to just take a taxi. It won't be that much.

Going from resort to resort is a hassle.

Best way is by car. Easy by car.

Here is another way, take a bus to a park, then at the part go to the transportation center of that park and get on the bus to the other resort.

Which bus and which park is faster depends greatly on what resort you are coming from and what park you are going to.

Taking a taxi is cheaper than staying at the Boardwalk. It really isn't very expensive and it is FAST.

You can take the bus to MGM and then the boat to the Bordwlk, but it doesn't work going to Epcot. The bus lets you off in the front and you would have to walk thru the park, using park admission, to exit the International Gateway to catch the boat.

Taking a bus is not bad for later in the day, but the OP wanted to know about getting to the BW by 8am! I still think taxi is the quckest and easiest way.

Before you completely decide you can't stay at the Boardwalk, wait for details on the conference.

They sometimes book the rooms en masse and can give you a good discount. Someone just posted some ridiculous rate of like $139/night for an Epcot deluxe.

Don't know if that's out of your budget. Like I said - I'd get details on the conference before you cast out the idea of staying there.

Have her look into renting DVC points from someone. A studio mid-week during the low season isn't much more than a room at the All Stars.

That said, with park hours shorter in slower seasons, early entry sometimes isn't even until 9:00am. As buses don't even start until an hour before early entry, no, she couldn't make it.

A cab would be the most efficient way, although expect that to run up to $10 plus tip, depending on traffic.

SnackyStacky hit the nail on the head--look into the conference rates as well...although they can often be higher than othercodes and discounts.

I know this is slightly off topic, but the wife and I are attending a conference in Sept and got good deals on WDW tickets through the WDW conference ticket page.

Disney Conference Ticket Page

The big advantage is that they sell 3 day hopper passes (that also include PI or DQ!) and after 2 PM tickets for the conference attendee.

The only disadvantage is that these hopper passes expire unlike the normal hoppers.

Thanks everyone for your great responses!! I think the Taxi will probably be the best idea for her. At $10, or even $20, it's still cheaper than staying at the Boardwalk as opposed to a value. The conference is "offering" $239 a night to stay at the boardwalk. She's still only a resident, not a practicing physician, so that's pretty much out of their price range! I do appreciate all the helpful responses though!

I agree a taxi is her best bet.
We took 2 taxis on our last trip...once early morning from ASSP to the Poly with all our luggage and 5 people, and once just DH & I later at night from the Swan to the Poly. It was about 20.00 with tip and well worth it to save the aggravation of bus transfers and what not at those hours. :D

As someone mentioned before, I would definitely check out the rates at the Swan & Dolphin. Very nice, and right there in the middle of everything.
