And, I don't have any clue how it got there :confused3 It's about 2 inches from my knee on the side. It doesn't hurt, I can press on it. And, it's hard not squishy. My doctor is sending me to an ortho. What the heck can this be? I'm a little worried.

I have something like that in much the same location - although I would say mine is a little squishy. Mine is a ganglion cyst - at least I hope they are right!

Mine started last Aug/Sept after a day of walking around the State Fair - took until Christmas to get someone to do something - so I was a little worried all that time. The ortho did a needle aspiration and said the gunk appeared to be from a ganglion cyst, so there was little chance of cancer. It went down for awhile and is back now - especially after alot of walking. I did not think at the time to ask him how long it will take for it to go away completely!?

Do you notice it is larger with activity - if so it could be a ganglion cyst as well.

it is good that you are getting into an ortho!!! :thumbsup2 I wouldn't worry - there are lots of things it could be that are not worth worrying about - and, again, the fact that you are getting into an ortho so soon is great!

Thank you for replying :wave2: It's hard like a bone but what the heck kind of bone would that be? Mine is definitely NOT squishy so I am still a little concerned. My ortho appt is June 7th (the day before we leave for vacation  )

My guess was going to be a ganglion cyst also. I had one on my wrist years ago. The Dr. gave me the choice of hitting it with a book or letting it go away on its own. I choose to let it go away on its own and it did. I know that it is hard but try not to worry.

Yes, but aren't they painful? Or at least a little "squishy"? This is hard like a bone... :confused3

I have a ganglion cyst on the top of my hand. It's hard like bone, not squishy. It's not painful either, unless it gets really big and then it's uncomfortable if I hit it on something. It goes up and down in size depending on how much I'm on the computer. I've had it for years.
