I have a handyman question!

I want to lay down new linoleum tiles in my kitchen. I really want to avoid pulling up the old tiles, so can I just put the new ones right on top of the old ones? Is there anything else that I should do to prep the floor (other than clean it)? I really need to keep it as simple as possible. Any advice?

It would probably work at first, but I think you would have problems down the road if you don't remove the old tiles. Moisture getting in between the old and the new, etc.
But, I'm no pro.

You should be able to if you put down new sub-floor first.

Sub floor? Anything more than plopping the tiles down will mean I'll need to hire someone, which means it will cost at least $250 in labor, which I am trying to avoid. I know I know, I am being cheap. I just want these tiles to get through a couple of years, but to spruce the kitchen up. Is there any kind of sealant I could put on top of the old tiles before sticking the new ones down?
