Do they do this? She is not a member, I am. I rented her points for a 4 night stay starting tomorrow. (We will also be there).
I could only get her SSR when I booked (we're at BLT).

She is saying that DVC rooms are released the day of that are not sold to cash guests?!?!

I checked this morning for anything else. I KNOW nothing else is going to come up. At one point I could have gotten her a split stay between SSR and BCV, but she didn't want that....

So, now I'm trying to finish up at work, and I'm stressed about packing and she's asking me to check again "because they open up rooms"....

Is this true?!!? I've never heard this before. She said it happened to her once when she rented from someone else and she was able to switch at check in or something...

Let me also say...I rent to her for $6 a point..so she's already doing ok with me etc...

There is a note on the member website to call under 10 days for availability. They can call the resort to see if there are any cash rooms they want to open up for points.

Check Availability
Accommodation inventory is the same whether you book online or through Member Services, except within 10 days of arrival. For close-in bookings, if you do not receive your desired selection, you may contact Member Services.

I would charge her $14 per point. :goodvibes

Interesting, I've never noticed that note. Not that I'll ever use it... knock on wood.

At least. Is she planning on taking Magical express? There may be a fee to call and change that info too... :rolleyes1

Based on what CM at MS told me a couple months ago, this is conceivably possibly. There are always some DVC rooms given to Disney for regular guests to pay cash on. As the dates get closer, if Disney hasn't filled the rooms, they can be given/sold back to DVC for points reservations. And this can happen at the last minute. So, it's not something that is definitely going to happen, but there is a slight possibility.

I'm curious, did you make that last minute call for your friend? I hope you're enjoying your vacation!

No good deed goes unpunished...

and if you can get her switched, then can go thru magical bus change, and lugguage has to be carried or may go to wrong resort if they use the yellow vouchers you have.

Friends and Family... LOL

Your response was spot-on. And at $6 a point she's STILL asking her friend to change her resort the day before a vacation. Jeesh.

Got a good deal for $ 6 a point! She should be happy with that, as long as you are somewhere on Disney property, be glad!!!
