HI,

Can someone answer a few of questions,

1. What is the weather like at thanksgiving time?

2. Does anyone have pictures of POR and CBR?

3. Which resort is nicer,I will not be going into the pool.

4. How would I go about getting a good rate for thanksgiving week?

Thank you.

The weather this time of year is normally very nice. 75. Though last year we were there the first week of Dec.and it was cold. Both resorts are nice, i'm not sure one is nicer. CBR is just what you would expect, its Carribean like. Bright colors. And POR is nice. I think they have very nice grounds to walk around. As far as a discount besides maybe AAA, or if you have Disney club you would have to see what you qualify for. Good Luck

POR and CBR are both great resorts. CBR is our favorite. I have pictures of CBR on my web and photo sites. If you are interested in CBR I suggest you check out the FAQ thread listed below.

Last year we went the week prior to Thanksgiving and left on Thanksgiving night. To many of the folks, it was cold, but to us from upstate New York, it was perfect, around 70. The crowds were very small. Our first day at the MK was on Saturday and we were walking around Frontierland and there wasn;t a sole in sight. Kind of creepy! But that meant there were no lines. It was quite an enjoyable time to go. Perfect weather, small crowds, xmas decorations were going up. I wouldn't go any other time.

The weather varies. I live about an hour from Disney. I've cooked Thankgiving in shorts while the kids swam in the pool. I've also cooked in a sweater with the fireplace going. You can't tell what you'll have until closer to November, but I can guarantee no snow! :)

If you're not going to use the pool, my vote is for CBR. The rooms are larger, bright and cheerful. There's a lot of storage - drawers and cubbies. The landscaping is gorgeous! The food court and shopping area are very cool.

I would book a room now to get where you want, then if you find a better rate, you can usually get it applied to your reservation without much hassle. Of course I usually book room-only through CRO (we buy the Fl res annual seasonal passes). I don't know much about the packages. It might be more difficult to move a package to a better rate. You might want to try Dreams Unlimited. I've heard they do a good job getting customers the lowest rate.
