I have a dog hair embedded in my toe!

I always thought that the "hair of the dog" was beneficial :teeth:

Can you try a drawing salve. I know it works for splinter, but I don't know about hairs? :confused3

This happened to me only it was under my fingernail and it was a grain of sand. Ouch! It hurt really bad. I eventually worked it out with a needle.

I think before I tried the needle...if there's still some of the hair sticking out, I'd try duct tape (another handy use! ;) ) or maybe some hair remover wax (like for facial hair, etc.). Both of those would hurt less than the needle!

Oh yea, we have two black labs and a yellow! :faint: I get a pedicure once a month and my lady always cracks up at the things she finds in my feet :p I am notorius about not wearing shoes so it is always an adventure.

Soak you foot in warm water and then use pointy ended tweezers to pull it out. nd you are right, it hurts!

LOL He's part something, but I haven't figured out what yet.

Okay, I've decided to wait until tomorrow and try some of that salve (I have never heard of it, though. Can I get it at any drugstore?). Thanks everyone.

Okay, FreshTressa, spill the beans.

once again- the dis has an answer for everything!
I recomend soaking. I think I have something stuck underneath my fingernail on my pointer finger left hand. The first catastrophe happened at work(bookstore), I tried to get a book off the shelf and somehow my fingernail got caught on the edge and it bent back. Ok, that hurt but tis still attatched so I'm ok- no big deal. Later I was getting a roll of stickers unraveled and YOUCH!! Now my finger is bleeding under the nail for no apparent reason. Just a tiny bit of blood, but now I see a tiny grey- purple dot under the nail- so is this a foreign object, or a tiny bruise??? I don't think it's dried blood b/c it didn't start to bleed until just before I noticed the dot. It hurts but not as much as I would think it would hurt to have something wedged under your nail. If it is something stuck, what could it possibly be????
OK I'm going to soak- I'll keep you posted.

soak in warm water and dont break it off when you pull it out .It is painful : (

So true!! It cracks me up sometimes how you can ask just about any question here and tons of people rally around you. 10 have similar stories to tell, 10 have suggestions on what to do and another 10 just want to offer a hug, :grouphug: I love it! :disrocks:
