I booked tickets and cancelled online so I now have a $275.00 credit. Does anyone know if it's transferrable to another person?

I'm reasonably certain it is. You can't sell it, but a couple of years ago one of my friends had some Southwest credit that was going to expire; she was able to make a reservation in my name, and I had NO problem flying.

I would say if it was a non-refundable ticket then the credit is only in your name. Just call SWA and find out and let us know the official answer.

Yes it is transferable. I had a credit (from a Ding! refund) that I used to purchase tickets for my MIL for our August trip. Anyone can use them. You don't even have to book the fare for them. They just need to know the confirmation number and the name the credit is under.

Now was your ticket a refundable one or non-refundable?

90. Refunds (Issued Jan. 16, 2005; Effective Jan. 16, 2005)
A. Refundable tickets - The fare paid for unused travel by passengers who purchase fully
refundable, unrestricted tickets may, for any reason and upon surrender of the usused ticket
or unused portion thereof, or with the Ticketless Travel confirmation number and proof of
purchase sufficient to Carrier, either be refunded or applied toward the purchase of future
travel, provided that such refund or credit is requested within one (1) year from the date of
ticket issuance. In accordance with Article 90.F. below, Carrier shall make eligible refunds
according to the original form of payment. Refund or credit requests will not be honored
after one (1) year from the original issue date of the ticket.

B. Nonrefundable tickets - Passengers who purchase restricted, nonrefundable tickets are not
eligible for refunds, except as provided in Articles 90.C. and 90.D. below. Unless otherwise
specifically stated on the ticket, in the travel agreement with Carrier, or by an Employee or
agent of Carrier when reservations are booked, confirmed, or ticketed, the fare paid for
unused nonrefundable tickets, upon surrender of the usused ticket or portion thereof, or with
the Ticketless Travel confirmation number and proof of purchase sufficient to Carrier, may
be applied toward the purchase of future travel, without penalty, provided that travel is
completed within one (1) year after the original issue date of the ticket. The fare for the new
ticket(s), however, may be greater and/or the new ticket(s) may be subject to different terms,
conditions, or restrictions than the original ticket.

Cool, that's what I thought since the names for the passengers were blank to fill in when rebooking with the credit. I actually cancelled once, rebooked with the credit then cancelled again. I bet if I list it on ebay it will get pulled though won't it?

Southwest credits are currently being sold on ebay and are bringing almost the value of the credit at auction close. Just do a search for southwest credit.
