I didn't ask for the diver! I phoned and left a message asking for the personalized menu. Debbi just e-mailed and said I have the diver too.

I'm travelling with my niece (4) and a neighbour and her family, they have 2 boys (4+9).

We don't have any special occasions other than it's everyone else's first time to WDW. I haven't been to the Coral Reef during my other trips to WDW.

What ideas do you have for the menu and the sign?

I have photos of my niece and I at DL from last year. I don't have any photos of my nieghbour and her family. I want to keep this as a surprise for everyone. Any ideas on how I might get some photos from the neighbour?

TIA

Can you get a personalized menu for any restaurant? We are taking DD and DN to Brown Derby on their birthday and would love to have a special menu made up for them...how much does it cost?

We had a diver last year. It wasn't our first trip to WDW, but there was no special occasion either. Here's some pictures. The sign basically said "Nemo says Have a great time". My boys really got a kick out of it, and tried to figure out how the diver knew their names. Really, they were excited, they were just really goofy for the menu photos.

I have two words for you... Block party!

We have one in our neighborhood every year where everyone brings thier own meat and then a side or dessert to share.

We also call our local Fire Dept ahead of time and if they are not busy (obviously) they will show up at our party and show all the kids the fire truck.

Good way to socialize and take pictures of the neighbor kids without looking suspicious!

Great idea about the block party. Do I have time to organize it and plan my trip to WDW?

I like the idea about Nemo saying hi to the kids. Did you do a different one for yourselves (parents)?

Do you know any of the neighbor's relatives (sister, mom, etc.)? You could enlist one of them in your little scheme. ;) A family member could ask for pics for a Christmas project or something. It wouldn't ruin the surprise & you wouldn't look like a perv sneaking around taking pics of the neighbors. :rotfl: It's great you're trying to make this trip so special for everyone. I hope you find a way to keep it a secret. If not, you can at least keep it a secret from the kids. :goodvibes

When did you leave her a message? I know she has been away, but I left her a 2nd message last Tuesday 5/27. Still haven't heard anything.

I think it was last week also. I can't remember what day I called. I got the answering machine and it said she was away til June 12. That's why I was so surprised that I got an e-mail and that she said I have a diver also.

Hopefully she will get back to you soon. Did you leave her your e-mail? Check in the trash, in case your e-mail is set to high.

Do you request a diver or do they pick who gets a diver?? We are eating there in Aug I booked in March. Can they tell me if we are close to the tanks by my confirmation #??

I was told that they can not promise a tank side table, but they would put us close so we can see the banner the diver is holding.

I have left 2 messages with her and still haven't heard back... I don't really care if the answer is NO we are full. I would just like a return phone call.

I booked Coral Reef for my anniversary and then called months later requesting a diver. At first, I thought that Deb was ignoring me, but a few days later, I got a return call. Then, when I emailed her, it took a few days again. I have heard that others got instant replies, but that wasn't the case for me. Regardless of how long it took for her to return the call and email, everything was great!!!

DS loved sitting by the tank. I suggest that you get there at least 20 minutes before your reservation. They really do try to accomodate you and sit you near the tank. I was glad that DD woke up from her nap because if I had to push the stroller in, I am not sure if we would have been seated next to the tank (there are stairs to the first tier, not sure if there is a ramp, I suppose there should be one). They even give you a little sheet that has pictures of the various fish for the kids to find.

Have a great trip and enjoy the divers. That was pretty cool.
