I work for the Disney Store...They are giving me 3 1 day hoppers. I can not add on to them. We are going down in June for 8 days I will only do the parks 5 or 6 days. The 6 th days would be our arrival & we would only get a few hours in park so I could skip it.

There is 4 of us & I have 1 AP. So how can I best use the 1 day Hoppers that expire at the end of the year. I have been playing with the WDW tickets online & I'n not sure it is worth the no experation option. Any Ideas? :3dglasses

so you can't turn them into Disney and get credit for their new tickets right?

how about selling them on ebay?

with the new tickets that disney is selling the longer you stay the better the deal - and yes I think the no expiry date is worth it - you never know when a rainy day might change your plans.

The tickets are not upgradeable since they're "comps".

You could sell them on eBay but after paying listing fees and shipping charges, it may not be worth the hassle.

The cheapest way to use the tickets for your trip would be to give all 3 to one person to use on 3 individual days. In order to visit the parks for 5 days, that person would also need to purchase a 2-day MYW Hopper (expiry) at the gate for $164.01. Of the remaining members of your party, one has an AP and the two others can purchase 5-day MYW Hoppers (expiry) from Ticketmania for $228 each. Total cost = $620.01

There is no good way to use those tickets on a 5 to 10 day vacation.

Oops, there is one good way for a rare circumstance, when you can get by without hopping for all except one day of your vacation, buy non-hopping MYW passes long enough for the remaining days and use the one day hopper on the day you need to park hop.

If you have more than one vacation planned and already decided to buy 10 day non-expiring tickets, then there is no problem using the 1 day tickets at any time.

We used to be able to upgrade one of our old comp tickets to a park hopper.

This is a 1 day Hopper. My manager says no about adding it to a 7 day.... so as far as I know I can't :wave2:

Well... anyone else who works for the Disney Store... if you have thought about this yet let me know... this is what I think I should do. Purchase 3 7 day hoopers with or without the options. Use the Comp tickets 1 day. Then if I only end up doing the 5 days in the park I can add the no experation on to them at the end of the trip. Then next year I get 3 more comp 1 day passes. If I do more than a 7 day hopper the no experation price goes up to $100.00

I didn't realizr that you're planning to return to WDW next year. If that's the case, then I think that you need to look at the broader picture here. Yes, the cost of adding "no-expiry" to the 8-, 9- and 10-day passes is $100+tax BUT, the cost-per-day is still lower than the 7-day passes are, even with that higher "no-expiry" fee.

For instance:
An adult 7-day MYW Hopper (no-expiry) from Ticketmania costs $286. Breaking it down, that's $40.85 per day.

An adult 10-day MYW Hopper (no-expiry) from Ticketmania costs $340. The cost-per-day is $34.00.

Even if you were to choose to purchase 7-day MYW Hoppers (expiry) from Ticketmania, at a cost of $234 each, the cost per day is $33.43...a whopping 57¢ per day less than the 10-day MYW Hopper (no-expiry).

In the long run, the 10-day pass is still the better choice. It means shelling out more money now but the savings is greater in the long run. With 3 1-day comp tickets each year, you would have a total of 12 days to split between this year's visit and next year's. And if you didn't use all 10 days off of the MYW passes, they would still be good for another visit some other time.

Sell them at cheapmom's site. No fees, and a smaller group of people. somehow felt safer. Doubt it is, but it worked for me!

Thanks AKA I think I will do that. I don't think I can sell them ... they are for my use only. I'm working at the Disney Store so I can go to WDW every year. :earsgirl:

Not sure about the Disney Store comps but all CM comps from WDW are linked to the CM's name and they can get be terminated if they sell them. I would use them, not sell them or give them as a gift to a friend.

I work at the Disney Store too, and the cast members were told to inform guests that the no expiration option has to be purchased before the magic your way passes are used. I don't know if this is true, but you should confirm it when you get down there.
Have fun!

We were not told that at my DE store. We just tell the guest that they have to purchse the no experation option at WDW. I'm pretty sure you can get it anytime before they expire but you pay on the original days. I will find out if what your saying is true. Thanks ::MickeyMo

I wondered if this was true. I always tell guests to check when they arrive.
