Hello I am going to WDW in July for my first time with hubby and 9 year DD. I have 2 questions:
1. where is everyone's favorite place to eat dinner in the Magic Kingdom?

2. Also is Chef Mickey's in the magic Kingdom?

Thank you so much. You guys are awesome!

Chef Mickey's is located in the Contemporary Resort, just outside of Magic Kingdom. You could easily walk there from MK or take the monorail one stop.

Inside MK, our family favorite is Crystal Palace. We've dined there for every meal (B,L,D) and have always been happy with it.

We also love Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast, but don't do that every trip.

Chef Mickey's is inside the Contemporary Resort. Which is a short monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom. You can also walk there, it takes around 8 minutes or so.

Inside the MK, we enjoy Crystal Palace. My daughter is 12 and that has been a favorite of hers for years. Its a character buffet that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and the Pooh Bear characters are there. We like the food, its pretty in there and the characters are fun.

Your daughter might also love eating inside the castle at Cinderella's Royal Table. That one has princesses obviously but its very pricey.

There are also a few places that don't have characters:
Liberty Tree Tavern which is good for lunch (lunch is not a buffet and has sandwiches and salads and a few entrees) and has an all you can eat family style Thanksgiving dinner (ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese).
Tony's: Italian food for lunch and dinner. This one has Lady and the Tramp theming.
Plaza: Sandiwiches, soups and salads and wonderful desserts. Very reasonable place.

You can check out menus for those and all other WDW restaurants at: www.allearsnet.com That site really helps me plan my meals and budget.

Hope that helps! Have fun, a first trip to WDW is very exciting!

We ate a counter service meal at Cosmic Rays at the MK earlier this month, as well as dinner at Crystal Palace. Hubby thought Cosmic Rays was the best counter service meal he ate all week (even vs. Wolfgang Puck Express in DTD, which got my vote as tops CS), and we loved, loved, loved the character dinner at Crystal Palace.

We also ate at Chef Mickeys....it was a very short monorail ride to the Contemporary, and the atmopshere was great there too (my son gave Chef Mickey's #2 honours in top table service meals of the week). If you're comparing food, though, CP came out on top.

Chef Mickey's is WONDERFUL, you will love it. It is the only restaurant we have gone to every single one of our trips and we always will. We go twice a trip actually, one breakfast and one dinner.

We would have to second CRT. We adore the breakfast and your DD would LOVE it (so will mom!!!) My gils love it, they are 7,9 and 14. We have done it all but one of our trips. The food is great and being in the castle is perfect!

I know you didn't ask, but another great meal in MK is a CS, but it is Cosmic Ray's. We eat there every MK day (sometimes twice!) The chicken and ribs combo is grat and while my kids are always good about eating their veggies, the green beans are so good they fight over them!!!

Have fun, it is an amazing place. I am always jealous of first timers, there is nothing like your first time!!!
