At target this morning there was one person who along with her husband grabbed 6 of the same tv's! 2 per cart. Just made separate transactions and looks like they used a different card for each one. (Looked like different cards being used but I couldn't tell for sure). They should really make a rule that is it truly a limit "1 per person" and not one per card or transaction. Several had two in their carts but at least they were with another person. It looked like they had at least 12 + of each tv for sale which was nice. I still didn't get one. I wish they had done tickets because people just ran up and grabbed as many as they could into carts and then had family and friends come in who hadn't been there as long to give them tv's.

Walmart however was awesome and handed out tickets. No running, no madness!

That's really not fair. It's also why I don't do BF a.m. sales. Too crazy and too many rude people (oh, and I don't really have too much disposable income right now either.;))

I'm surprised Target didn't enforce their own rules.:confused3

I second that. Too crazy and too stressful.

I was very very surprised that this was allowed too. I felt that when they mention one per person it should be just that.

I don't do these kind of sales. I think people get seriously crazy over this stuff. It's just not worth it. My peace of mind is way worth a few dollars more.

At kmart today 2 guys had 7 doll playsets 8 lincoln log sets and 10 nerf gun sets- maybe they r doing resale

Stuff like this is why I would rather poke needles in my eye than venture into a store on Black Friday! I did some on line shopping and that was about it.

I heard other Targets handed out tickets for the TVs. I'm surprised yours didn't. Most stores hand out tickets for all the big ticket items.

Our Target didn't hand out tickets or maps. I was lucky and got a TV because I knew where they were stacked (I have a foster child who works there). A lot of people ran for the electronics section and they were stacked at the end of women's clothes.

That's crazy! And dangerous. Target needs to get with the program. :sad2:

Wow!!!! Wowwwww!!! This is one thing that is wrong with our country...GREED! The whole "I gotta get mine before you get yours" mentality...that's totally shameful.

really? What are these people doing with all of these TVs? Reselling them for profit? Thats just wrong, I hate when people do that too. One year I was going CRAZY looking for those mickey mouse clubhouse toys for DD, they were cute though but anyways, I lived across the street from a walmart at that time so some mornings I would head over there when they opened to see what they unloaded the night before and finally one day I completed the set for DD and a man came along with a wagon full of toys and cleared the shelves of mickey mouse clubhouse toys! Some were doubles, triples of the same thing. He smiled and said "I do this every year, earn extra cash on ebay buy selling the "hard to find" items for more than what I paid for."
Just got me a little annoyed b/c here I was pinching pennies to make christmas happen for DD and he was totally taking advantage of people in the crappy economy.

I always wonder about those people.

But then again there are people on the Dis right now proud of themselves for getting several TV's/(insert hot item here) this morning.

Super HUGE pet peeve of mine.

Same for when sales online are bought by people who have no interest in the item except for resale.

At the store, after waiting in line, etc....to get that one special item that is going to make one's Christmas.....think little girl wishing for Barbie house...only to find someone stock piling them for resale.

Oh how it bugs me.
Sorry

In a moment of insanity (DD 15 thought she was missing out on something) I took her to Walmart--seriously there were people with 20 steamers and stick vacs on a trolley cart--no way they were going to use them, I'm sure it was for resale purposes, based ont he conversation that was taking place. BTW we walked in and pretty much walked right back out. Sorry I'll work a few extra hours before I deal with that crap. I do not need anything that is being sold on BF that badly. I guess I'm a snob, but I don't care. Bottom line if I can't afford it without the BF sale than I can't afford it, my sainity is far more important than getting what will be last years closeout model in January.

Same here.

I live in the cold northeast. It was raining last night. You couldn't have paid me to stand in line in that kind of weather just so I could get what is supposedly a great deal on some item. No thanks!

I wonder who buys these resales? I wouldn't buy what is obviously used even if it's still in the box. At least Best Buy was giving out tickets per item.

I don't usually hit 'Walmart or Target early on BF--too much craziness. But I wanted the XBox and Target had a great deal, so we went.

No one got more than one TV or any of the other electronics. We had to stand in line in electronics but as each person got to the counter they asked for the smaller electronics and were handed the item, one at a time--anything limited WAS limited. The TVs were stacked on pallets and an employee stood by each pallet and supervised, allowing each person to only take one.

The only entitlement attitudes I saw today were the people that would take one item and get in line, when they got close to the front 4 or 5 would come from no where and bring them huge stacks of stuff to check out. 1 person in front of you suddenly became many.

DD and I usually get up early, fix a big thermos of hot chocolate, and hit one or two openings on BF. I think it's more about the tradition than the actual sales for us though. :rotfl:

We never, never, never go to Walmart, Best Buy, or other stores I think have huge potential for craziness though, especially at opening. They had news segments here starting on Monday & Tuesday showing people camped out waiting for black Friday sales. One guy they interviewed said he was part of a group of 8 who were taking turns waiting in line. So you line up behind him, thinking you're 2nd in line, and all of a sudden you're 9th in line. :sad2:

We actually passed on the insane hours a lot of stores had this year and didn't even get out the door until almost 9am. No horror stories except for Hollister. As soon as I realized the line was all the way to the door, and most people had huge stacks of items to buy, we turned around and walked right back out. I had already shopped the 25% off sale last week and was just planning on rebuying a few things to get the extra 5% off. Totally not worth it.

We scored a decent deal on a coat and a couple of pairs of running shoes, but that was about the extent of our shopping today.

It's nuts that stores don't monitor the one per person rules more closely. It creates sooo many negative feelings.
