They keep highly rooting for either Dana Walden or Josh D'Amaro to become the new CEO of The Walt Disney Company, when they’re most likely to continue to ruin it, since Dana is not a creative person and Josh is from the parks side. Variety keeps making it look like Alan Bergman, my pick, is the lowest pick. Their recent article proves it:

No offense, but I am one who would definitely prefer a person from the parks side.

I'm sorry, but we can't have another repeat of the Bob Chapek fiasco. Outside of parks, he overprioritized streaming (Disney+ and Hulu) over film and TV.
We can agree about Chapek. Never did like him. But just because he was horrible doesn't mean all parks people are. There are bad apples in every wing if you look hard enough, and there are gems in each as well. I would never limit it by which section they come from, but more importantly their beliefs, thoughts and where they want to take the company.

True, but I don’t trust Josh D'Amaro, especially if he becomes the new CEO. His plan to remove Magic Kingdom's Rivers of America for Cars is just bad. Plus, he was appointed by Chapek in the first place.

This is why I believe it should be Alan Bergman that takes over as CEO. Being part of the film side of the company (since 2001), he would serve as a guy who believes in creativity.

Dana Walden is another choice I like the least, since she doesn’t know much about Disney other than the TV side.

I don't consider Chapek to be a parks person. He came up through home entertainment and consumer products. By the time he went to parks it was at the chairman level. A true parks person, or any division really, is someone whose early career path came through that division.

D'Amaro is more of a parks person, but even his first job in parks was VP of AK.

True parks people rarely advance to the higher levels of the WDC.

FWIW, Iger didn't come from Disney either.
True, but he was, I believe, a friend of Michael Eisner, if that is correct.

The other concern I have with Dana is that, because of her history with Fox, she won’t be willing to sell the Disney-acquired 21CF stuff (at least most of it) if the company does feel like selling them. The recent folding of ABC Signature into 20th Television does make it seem like, to me, an opportunity for a sell-off of said Fox stuff.
