this should clear up any confusion. On our new Pop Century mugs it is printed FREE UNLIMITED REFILLS FROM OUR BEVERAGE ISLANDS DURING THE STAY IN WHICH THE MUG WAS PURCHASED. Seems to me this is states very clearly what the policy is.

Amen. Looks like Disney is trying to do something about this situation.

on that mug, not the mugs that we bought with unlimited refills for ever.

That just repeats what the anti-reusing mug people have been saying forever. It's not on the mug I purchased, but at the time I did purchase it, there was a sign at ever checkout counter and mug island that stated "Free refills for the life of the mug!" As a result, that's the rule I'll be going by.

And again..I believe most people know what the policy is now. I actually posted what my mug said on another debate from my laptop at the POP this past week.

I don't think most deny that is what the words say. The problem becomes when the cm's continue to tell you they are good forever and to bring them back. I believe most think Disney is protecting themselves in case they ever want to enforce it. I'm sure you saw, as we did at POP, that they sure didn't care what anyone filled. I could care less if anyone brings their mugs back, since I have certainly heard and been told what the "unofficial" policy is...and a lot of people prob figure that is the copyright mumble jumble on the mug..I didn't notice it til the second day, and then only because I remembered it being mentioned on the board. I'll let Disney decide to enforce it. I think I realized more than ever (at the size of POP), what a small plug in a hole we on the DIS board are (and within that board, the mug reuse worriers)..they turn over in one week at POP, the total number of people on this board (and not everyone posts)..the few people who bring back their mugs are really the proverbial drop in a bucket..or more like a speck. At POR, where they recently changed their mugs, you see so few old mugs (way more non Dis mugs), I can't believe it matters a hoot if those few mug returners refill at a later date. I think the concern is much more on these boards, than at Disney.

On a similar note..wow, did any one get ahold of the "family" mug being sold at Pepper Market? It looked ot be 1/2 gallon and our server told us they are about $20...and then (laugh) he told us you can bring it back on future visits, or use it at other resorts. We weren't even staying at that resort and they encouraged us to buy a mug! Hmmm..how does that fit in..is it ok to buy mugs from resorts you aren't staying at and "stop in" to refill them? LOL

I say if you can afford a trip to go back to Disney you should be able to afford drinks. I can't be bothered bringing mugs back after using them from a past trip, that spells work for me. :D

Bingo and ITA! Do what you were told and just forget about the "Mug Police". :jester:

I've stayed at PO 3 times and have used the same mug 3 times. Is it actually printed on the mug about using only during that stay? If so - I won't ever buy another mug from a different resort. I like the theme of the resort on the mug - not a warning!
