I hate throwing away shoes!

Especially since the pair I'm chucking today look perfectly fine and feel fine on my feet! But they are killing me!
For several weeks I've had a lot of pain in my right heel. I couldn't figure out what was going on. I had heel spurs once several years ago and I thought it might be that but there were some differences. The pain seems to come and go. I will be barely able to walk one day and the next it's just a little sore. Then I'd walk a mile or two without any pain. Couldn't figure it out until I noticed it always hurts the day after I wear a particular pair of brown leather shoes.
I wore them yesterday and I came home from work and sat down for a few minutes. It didn't wait until the next day to hurt. When I stood up again a little while later...YIKES! I was hobbling around the whole evening.
So dispite the fact these shoes match a couple of outfits better than any of my other casual shoes, they look nice, they feel fine on my feet, I am throwing them out today before I am tempted to wear them again.
AND I'm going shopping! So there is a bright side after all, LOL.

They have these little things you can insert in your shoes as heel supports. They kind of look like little donuts. Maybe you could try one first, before you toss the shoes.

I did try those when I couldn't figure out what was going on and I didn't realize a particular pair of shoes was to blame, lol. But they didn't really help.

Well at least donate them instead of chunking them. Someone else might be able to get SOME use out of them.

I'd be glad to donate them, I just figured if they hurt me they would probably hurt someone else too.
I would try to talk dd into trying them out but they'd definitely hurt her feet. We haven't worn the same size shoe since she was 12yrs old, lol.

We moved a few weeks ago and I found a box filled with perfectly good shoes. I almost threw them out, but decided to drop them off at the Goodwill box instead. I don't even know if they accept shoes, but I felt better about that than throwing them away.
