I hate storms!

Currently sitting down in my basement den in the house with the laptop and the TV on. They have a tornado warning for some nearby counties (not ours... yet) but this way I am ready to move if needed. This is really rare for us to have happen, so not taking any chances at this time. So here the dog and I sit... and wait... and hope this things breaks up in the mountains.

I understand 100%. Grew up in Northern IL and now live in NE TN. Luckily, the mountains seen to break up most of the storms before they hit us at full force and this line isn't supposed to hit us until early afternoon. Still, it stresses me out... I hate bad storms.

I thank God everyday for those mountains to. The mountains protect pretty good. I pick the kids up early from school today. It look so bad outside. It look like the bottom is fall out at any moment. Did mention it pitch black out and day time.

Thank you. We made it through okay. Luckily, the mountains DID break up the line before it got this far east. As such the rotation that caused the warning was also disturbed and broke up quickly.

Looks like we are just about through it. One more main line to come through to worry about and then we are clear.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I spent the night in the basement, thought I might get a little sleep, but the weather alarm kept going off. We just had a little wind and rain. The weather people always make it sound worse than it usually is, but I know they just want everyone to be safe.
BTW, I live near Tamms, IL.
