I hate people.

((((hugs)))) Jen. Hey, I love animals. Sounds like you need a visit from some loved pets, when ya working?

I understand what you mean. We have 9 cats at this time... because people leave them here in the country to die. We take them in, get them spayed/neutered, provide shelter, water, food, and of course... love.

But sadly, there are people that do those kinds of things.

Just remember not all of us are those people.

Hey, I am with you on that sentiment! I love my job at the veterinary hospital...it's the people I hate!

You would not believe how many euthanasia's we have done in that 2 weeks. It is ridiculous.

Take care {{{Hugs}}}

Digress for just a moment......these people who ignore/neglect/mistreat animals are also havingchildren.

I'm sure most of you can see where this thought is heading. Who would have thought the day might come when people would have to be taught to be sensitive?

Sorry Jen {hugs} It bothers me when I see it too :(

We live way out in the country and have dogs dumped on us all the time. I pay for shots and neutering. One dog had heartworms and that cost me big bucks. I live for the day when I can actually choose a dog for ourselves. One golden retreiver that was dumped on us had 8 puppies one day later. We found homes for the mama and babies.

I am amazed that people seem to think that a dog can survive on their own. I am sure they picture their dog frollicking in the woods and chasing down game. Hello....most dogs have lost that ability from years of domestication. I keep waiting to see a pack of chihuahuas (or poodles) hunting in nature.

Some people think of animals as "disposable" toys unfortunately. Others will abuse anything they can. Animals are an easy target. What surprizes me the most is when normally caring people mistreat animals. My Mom's neighbor once left their parakeet outside overnight ... in February! Needless to say the bird didn't last long.

Animals have feelings and personalities. If only more human animals could understand that.

Elaborating on Margie J's point, I think it stems from this humancentric idea that "it's just an animal." Hello! We are animals too!:rolleyes: I get annoyed when people refer to my birds as "it." These are living animals, they should be referred to as "he" or "she." I think most parents would be annoyed if others referred to their kids as "it." It seems that people, generally caring people as well, also rationalize that other animals are not as smart, therefore less valueable, etc. I don't think that any animal is dumb (in a human sense) enough to know that they are miserable whether it be cold, starving, frightened, etc.

:( I'm so sorry.

Look on the good side to bring your spirits back up. Right now my ds is playing with our guinea pig. He said, "you know that Hans (that's the guinea pig's name given to him by the shelter) is very gentle. He won't bite me when I'm giving him pieces of veggies." They just love each other!
