Does anyone else hate it when their kids prove them wrong???

My family and I were at the dinner table eating our very healthy meal of ham steaks and mac and cheese.(it's a quick dinner night, the DH has a basketball game) I keep telling my 2 soon-to-be 3 year old son to SCOOP his food with his spoon, we POKE our food with a fork. He wants to poke his ham and it just isn't working. Well this quickly escalates...I'm irritated cause he KNOWS how to eat with his utensils and HE'S PO'd cause I won't let him do what he wants...Finally I decide to leave him be and I ignore him and eat...NOT 30 SECONDS later...he says, "Mommy look I poke!" and out of habit I look up at my name(yes...mommy is my name) and low and behold what is STUCK to his spoon???

A PIECE OF HAM!!!:lmao:

Ugh...little brat got me! :lmao::lmao:

I have to learn not to argue with my 3 year old. This week he started some therapy (Speech, OT and PT) at the prek-Kindergarten building. I told him he was going to his "new school" he argued with me for an hour that it was "AH AH scool" (Emma's school, see why we need speech!) I tried to tell him that Emma went there last year and she was at the elementary school now, so this was his school now. He cried for an hour!

That's what kids do....but it's our job as parents to embarrass them in front of their friends. It's more fun as they get older. Like the time we were at WDW and DW and I were skipping and singing down Main St. We looked back and the two DD's were like they didn't know us. So much fun :banana:

Cute!:goodvibes

That's a nice display of lateral thinking & outside the box problem solving. He found a way where he could please you and be right at the same time! That child should get a cookie!

I happen to LOVE it when my kids prove me wrong. It shows me I'm doing my job. :goodvibes

:rotfl2:

Actually, I don't mind if my child proves me wrong, it's when my MOTHER proves me wrong that it sticks. in. my. craw. I hate having to say "My mother was right!". :laughing:

You could be quoting my life! My almost 3yo DS (who also is in speech) argues with his big sister regarding exactly which school is "bleh bleh ool" (Emily's school) this year as she has moved up to elementary school. She is constantly arguing with him over such inconsequential stuff, I always tell her it is pointless to argue with a two year old, you'll never win!

Just wait until they are teenagers and then you are wrong about EVERYTHING :lmao:.
