DBF was at work today, and was let out about noon...he almost made it home when he was called in for storm damage.

6 of their crews from NH are down in CT, which only left 3 in his area up here. He's out there now in a 75 foot bucket removing tree's that have fallen on the power lines so power can be restored. He called awhile ago, an it doesnt look like he'll be home anytime soon....

I hate his job to begin with, and with these conditions I hate it even more. Of course tonights a night the DD's are with their father, so i sit here alone thinking the worst....especially when he doesnt have cell coverage for a couple hours and cant call me to update me..

hate it hate it hate it!

Brandy, Thank your DH for me!!!! We were out of power for 18 hours which means no heat, and NO WATER. We went to bed early, read by flashlight and here it is at 4 something in the morning and I am wide awake. Of course, I could have been wide awake in the dark but crews like your DH were in Ct. restoring power.

The truck he use to be on, is down there still. He got home at 430 this morning, and had to be back at the truck at 7. He was up in the Lancaster, NH area, and said some residents were actually out there with chainsaws trying to cut tree's out of power lines. They ended up having to get the police and fire department out to "stand guard" so the guys could do their work. There were quite a few area's that were still out as of 430, but the boys needed to come home, eat, shower, change into dry clothes and head back out.

Hopefully they can restore all power soon...and they can do it without getting hurt. I feel better now that it's day light, but its still a crazy job...he's an adrenaline junkie...which makes it right up his alley...

ps...he's dbf,not dh... :goodvibes
