and just to reitterate, once you become an adult, no one's gonna give a flying crap what you like or what youre in to. seriously, theyre either going to take it or leave it.
if you like to wear hollister, like to listen to taylor swift, and support who the heck-ever team, then more props to you. if you dont like them, then so what?
"not conforming" makes you looped with other "non-comformists" most of them not having any idea what they are choosing not to "conform" to.
and yeah, some people do feel that they need to wear what everyone else is, listen to what everyone else is, and support the team everyone else is. and thats sad for them to not being their own individual. that is someone who has zero to no self confidence and only knows how to follow a pack. they'll regret it.
really, the only person that you need to worry about accepting yourself is...yourself. if you like who you are and what youre in to (provided you know...your hobby isn't something that you'd find in a horror movie or whatever...) than it shouldn't matter what people think. a little hint, people usually "dont like" or "dont accept" something that they dont know or are unfammiliar with.
i cosplay, which means i go to geek-conventions and dress up as make believe characters. yeah, most people would read that and go "wow, she must be like...a super nerd with no life, blahblahblah" and yeah. i am a super nerd, but i have fun, i like what i do, and im not hurting anybody by doing it. ive met life long friends that i get to see every year because of it. i dont stop doing something just because someone else feels they have the right to judge me and tell me what im doing is wrong.
bottom line, be yourself. if someone doesnt like it? screw em'.
