A portal to hell opened up in my PC at work on Monday
, and today I finally threw up my hands and surrendered. There was a memory leak in my Illustrator CS3 program, so I decided I'd uninstall/reinstall it. BIG BIG BIG mistake. After the reinstall, NONE of the 10 or so programs in the suite would run.
After nearly 3 days of research and calls to their tech support, it is clear that Adobe's Creative Suite 3 is the biggest piece of doodie they have ever produced. I've been using Photoshop since 1992, and other Adobe products for 10+ years. I've NEVER had a problem like this before. The suite takes about 3 hours to install, and 1.5 to uninstall. I've attempted about six uninstalls/reinstalls since Monday, including running cleanup programs, deleting registry keys, etc. Nothing worked. Today I decided I'd wasted enough time, so I humbly asked our PC support group to format the hard drive and put a new disk image on it. Tomorrow morning I get to spend 3 hours installing the whole thing anew. Can't wait.
