I had to cancel!!

Well I had everything all set up a 4 night stay at ASmu eith dining pln and the free PHP upgrades...had all my dining ressies made had everything...then my boss calls me into her office and tells me that I ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT have my vacation at the time I requested (mind you, I requested it at the begining of January and NOW is when she gets around to telling me that I cant have it!!) Add to that the fact that the other 3 people who are going with me have ALL started new jobs I had no other choise...all signs were pointing to "No" for me ....Im so bummed out...I have never had to CANCEL a trip before :(
 
That's terrible! I hope you can reschedule a trip sometime soon.

I'm so sorry you had to cancel :guilty: Hopefully you'll be able to reschedule for another time more sooner than later.
 
Oh no! I know exactly how you feel, as I had to cancel our last trip as well. The good thing is that WDW is always there, so you'll be able to get there, hopefully sooner rather than later! I see that you're in Miami, and it's easier to schedule a trip when you're driving and not worrying about plane fares on top of everything else! We used to live in Weston, and I loved being able to zip up to WDW for a long weekend! I know how disappointing it is to have made all of your plans and then have to start over again later! :grouphug:
 
I'm sorry you had to cancel.....:sad2: mean mean boss! Just think though.. you get to have the fun of planning another trip now!

I did!! thats the messed up part, we are instructed to subit our vacation requests in writing 60 days in advance...I submitted it at the Begining oj Jan for a vacation at the end of April...WELL in advance...they get around to telling me no at the end of february ? 2 whole months later!! they say it is b/c I cant take vacation at the end or begining of the month and it is a well known "fact" I transfered into the department in November and was never informed of that "fact". And their excuse for waiting so long? My office manager supposedly "realised immediately, but was just too busy to let me know"!
 
We too have had run ins with bosses like that, it stinks when they do that. Hopefully things work out for something in the future.
 
Using a term that I learned from the CM who took my last reservation - "That Hoovers"
 
Sounds to me like you need a new boss. Endeavor to get the current one fired. Don't get mad. Get even.

And THAT is the reason why I'm glad where I work...in the food service industry. I am one server, so when I ask for the time off, they have about 20+ others who can replace me. I don't plan on being a server the rest of my life, but in times of taking vacations or just days off, I don't have to do anything but remember to ask for the time when I need it. Doesn't have to be done way in advance.
Hope you're able to plan another trip soon. That is heartbreaking though to be so close to your vacation and then told no. :sad1:
 
I'm so sorry! We had to cancel our anniversary trip at the last minute in February due to a sick child and it bites! I am sending you pixie dust for a new trip(maybe even a longer one!) :wizard:

Firstly, you should be filing some kind of official complaint.
Secondly, I didn't mean to upset you, but everywhere I've worked have had holiday forms, whereby your holiday is not confirmed until you recieve the form back with the signature of your manager on it. This then becomes binding and cannot be broken without your agreement. Not sure if you had one of these back in January....
