I had to cancel the cruise UPDATE PAGE 3!!!

So I had to cancel our reservation for the podcast cruise. It seems DBF is in the running for a really really good teaching position and we are fairly confident he is going to get it. This means that he can not take off for the May 10th cruise. Originally we thought he would just be subbing and tuturing and that he wouldn't be getting a teaching job until the next school year but opportunity knocked and I told him to go ahead and take it because this could open up lots of doors for us. On the one hand I'm sad about missing the cruise but on the other I am happy for him that he will get this great opportunity that so many others have wanted...why can't we just have both! I am going to miss meeting all of you but I am sure Pete will plan another special something soon enough (hint hint..)

DBF promised to make it up to me by letting me plan a really fun superlong trip for the summer...I'm thinking a 2 week Disneyland/So Cal trip..

I'm struggling to find a job too and at this point, a job is definitely a higher priority. I'll be happy to hang around the boards with you and live vicariously through blogs, etc. It will be exciting to hear all the reports coming back.

This is true but the schools are closed the week of Feb 16-20 here so if he doesn't find out before the break that means he would find out either on 2/23 or after. I don't want to take any chances..I know it isn't even definite he is getting the job but he knows one of the people who is doing the hiring and is getting some really good feedback from him.

I am in agreement though, in the econamy the job is more important.
