I had no words

I would have been furious and shocked. Depending on the mood I was in I would have asked loudly to retrieve my change and to speak with the manager.

I get extremely frustrated with these attitudes as well. Most of the jobs where I live are minimum wage and every person I have encountered acts as if I owe them an extra "bonus". 95% of our young people ages 13-21 get pregnant, draw a state funded card, food stamps, or claim that their back is hurt to be on full fledged disability at the age of 21. So between the two samples of our population I become very frustrated.

That takes some nerve!!
I would probably be in shock, too, if that happened to me.

I think I would've gave him the bagels & coffee and asked for my 5 back...

I get tired of everyone with their hands out...
Our McDonald's has these tip jars now.....

What on earth would make him assume you would give a 25% tip for handing you a bag of donuts????

I am SOOO glad that didn't happen to me or any of my family... it would've made the next edition of the newspaper!!

A tip is something that is VOLUNTARY in an establishment like that! He was supposed to hand you your money and it was to YOUR discretion to place something in that stupid little cup, and YOUR'S ONLY...

I cannot tell you the WORDS that would've came out of MY Brooklyn mouth because I'd lose my blessing....

And for DUNKIN Donuts??? What an insult!! Now for KRISPY KREME

maybe but NOT Dunkin Donuts!!

I thought it was just the DD’s in Jersey I didn’t realize it was all over. I consider myself a good tipper but to tip someone to walk 2 feet to get my doughnut and coffee is unbelievable. (OK, so big deal they have to stretch a little to get my jelly doughnut on the top shelf)

We stopped at a DD by my son’s school this morning. They are using a big open Halloween candy dish for their tipping cup. The coins and bills were over flowing. My 5 yo son got to the counter and put his hand in it and grabbed a few of the coins. Well I never saw the DD workers move so fast to tell my son that the dish was not full of Halloween treats. (I wish they moved that fast getting my order)

PS – there is no truth to the rumor that my son tried that same slick maneuver in a bank with the teller’s cash draw. (hmmmm)
