I had mentioned my FIL dying, thought I should update

Last week was very bad. He was in ICU most of the week with internal bleeding and had lost 4 pints of blood. It wasn't looking good.
But the bleeding finally stopped and he is doing much better. We all thought that was it.... (DH's brother is a Des Moines doctor. And we could tell he even thought that was it.)
We saw his dad at the hospital yesterday. He is very frail, no surprise. But ate a hearty meal of ground up food! Very encouraging now. What a relief!
I'm afraid his mom would have to go into assisted living w/o his dad around. And they have been married for over 50 years. In addition, my MIL's only brother is on his deathbed. It would have been very hard on her. DH also had a sister who died from breast cancer just over 3 years ago.
So we were certainly concerned over his father. But his mother too.
But everything (cross fingers) appears to be better with his dad!
