I guess it's official: got the DVC reservation paperwork for cruise

Got our paperwork in the mail yesterday confirming our points reservation for the July 19, 2003 Western Caribbean cruise on DCL. I guess it's real! We can't wait, as we have been planning this cruise since August 2000 when we first bought into DVC. Something about seeing it all down on paper just made it so much more real for me.

Was there any problem getting the category you wanted at 11 months out?

We're planning to cruise on the 7-night western in October 2003. It's driving me nuts not being able to book it yet. Will be watching for your trip report when you return. Enjoy!

Doctor P, That was fast! I think I booked our cash cruise, Sept 21, 2002, around the same time through our TA, and I have no paperwork! How exciting to think about it and re-read the paperwork for months! Sus

Yesterday we got our paperwork for the July 19, 2003 Western cruise. Now we await the member cruise paperwork.....

We received our paper work for our July 5th cruise about 10 days after booking. We also received our confirmation letter for our OKW stay about 10 days later. Seeing it on paper makes it real and "official". Now the planning of driving (which my dh hates) or flying - already looking at flights and rentals. I love the planning. It is exiciting and I can't wait.

scootersmom: no problem getting the category we wanted, but we were unable to get a secret porthole room (category 10) so we opted to drop down to a category 11 room in a preferred location.

dvcreg: yes, I thought about the stir it might cause with the members' cruisers (after posting it). Sorry if I caused a few heart attacks or worries.

When I reserved on New Years Eve for Nov 30th Magic (good way to bring in the New Year) we couldnt get the secret porthole either. However, at 4mos to go we got it! Thank you Michelle I asked for & received updated paperwork with our secret porthole listed.
So check again in a few months.
