I guess I'm rope dropping IASW! ~ A March 2024 TR Update with new TR link 09/02

What a wonderful trip! Thank you for sharing. The burrata looks divine! I have said Hello to “the” George myself. He is a very nice man and really takes pride in WBG.
Ugh another delayed flight for you!
The Orange Bird Dooney is beautiful I love it!

Thanks for taking us along on your travels Susan.
I suppose the upside to a delayed flight is you got a wee bit more pool time.
Love your new Dooney bag. Very cute.
Good to hear you’re planning to get plenty of use out of that annual pass. You know it makes sense😁

I decided to treat myself to the olive oil cake as it was my last day. This was really interesting with black olives that had been marinated in a light syrup. I had never tried anything like it before.
I notice that you didn't say whether it was good or bad. ;)
I was expecting to have to leave the resort by 6:00 for the airport but my flight was pushed back by 2.5 hours. Not the greatest thing when you have to work at 8:00 am! So I decided to take a last Skyliner ride, followed by a dip in the pool and a beverage.
At least you found out about the delay before you left the resort. But it must have been really rough to get back home in the early morning hours. We found out that our flight had been delayed by 2 hours while we were on our way to the airport. I hate these delays. :(
Here's my super cute new baby....just used her for the first time last weekend when we were celebrating our anniversary in Niagara on the Lake.
I could see myself with this purse. ;)

Whew, that late arrival had to make for a rough work day! It's funny because I always tell myself to build in a buffer between vacation and back to reality necessities, but then I think about wanting every last second of Disney time and it goes out the window. :rotfl:
An olive oil cake sounds really interesting. And I agree with you on that aperal spritz, it looked watered down!

I hit up Spaceship Earth as it's one of my favourite classic attractions. Does anyone have an idea of when they are going to do the refurbishment on it? I know it was announced before Covid (ish?).
I remember hearing that too, but haven't heard anything lately.....
Of course I had to get a picture with the best new topiary at the F&G festival. Could Groot be any cuter?
Yes! I had to get that same one too!
"I Ran" by Flock of Seagulls. I only had one song missing now, "Everyone Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears and one opportunity to ride the next day. Would I make it and close in on my song collection goal? What do you think?
I still have yet to get either of those two. I think we got Disco Inferno, One Way or Another, and September.
wanted the chicken satay with spicy peanut sauce
That sounds good, we didn't have much time there, and I missed that one.
They also planted seeds in my head for 12 years down the road. I know I will still want to be in my happy place when I am 70.
We must be close in age, because I'm less than a year out for my 60th. Which reminds me I need to make hotel/cruise parking arrangements for that trip.
4 park challenge complete!
Yay for you!
I ended the night watching some of Luminous from the beach by my room. It was the perfect end to an amazing day.
That sounds like a great day, and not too strenuous!
A 5 day trip is lovely but it goes by way too fast!
Yes, a five day trip is much too short. I need at least a week.
I went for the famous lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes with bacon and they did not disappoint.
Those sound pretty delish! However, I won't be able to try them next trip, I think we have too many plans already! LOL!
I decided to upgrade my 5 day hopper to an AP!
Yay!
With a trip this summer, December and next March, I will wring every drop of value out of it.
That's the way to do it!
I was decked out in all my St Patrick's finery.

Look at you! How cute is that T-shirt?
I grabbed a photo with Walt at Dreamer's Point. This whole area is so restful and relaxing, I just love it.
I don't even know where that is. We were so rushed on our last trip, I barely got to explore that new area.
I had a lunch reservation coming up at Wine Bar George so headed to the front of the park to grab a Lyft to DS. That's next!
I'm hoping to try that place on our next trip!
To start I went for an Aperol Spritz. This was just okay... I think they went light on the Aperol and heavy on the club soda. It doesn't even have the robust orange colour they usually have.
I just don't get the appeal of those, but they are very popular. Here in the states they surpassed the Margarita as the most popular cocktail.

That sounds absolutely disgusting. Then again, I dislike olives.

Great placement on the Orange Bird!
I finally headed to the airport around 7:45 where I waited and waited and waited. We finally flew out just after 11:00 and landed at 2:00 am! Then I had to clear customs and get home. Luckily I had a driver picking me up so it wasn't too bad. But I was definitely feeling at work the next day!
Yikes! There is no way I could make it to work with that little sleep. Then again, I'm lucky I don't have a day job.
I should be starting a 3 trip PTR soon, have to take advantage of my AP!

See you real soon!

I hope you post here to let us know when you start it!

Hi everyone from beautiful Prince Edward Island! I have been camped out at my cottage for the last month and loving every minute. I only have 4 days left before I head home and then 3 days at home before I head to Disney! So I thought I would do a very quick synopsis of my August plans.

August 15 ~ travel day with a late arrival. 1 night at Sports with a great AP rate.

August 16 ~ MK! Crystal
Palace breakfast with Kathy, Billie and a few other friends. General MK shenanigans. Check into POFQ.

August 17 ~ DHS with Kathy. I sucked it up and purchased both a LLSP for ROTR and a general LLMP. I have MMRR, Toy Story and Tower booked with hopes of snagging something at Epcot later. Dinner at La Hacienda with Kathy and Billie.

August 18th ~ EP with one of my book club friends from home and her husband. Nothing booked yet but will do VQ for Guardians. Dinner at Narcoosees with the same crew.

August 19th ~ AK. Booked a LLSP for FoP. Finally got “Up Close with Rhinos”. Lunch at Yak and Yeti. Check into Bay Lake Tower today. Hopping to Epcot for the evening with an LLSP booked for Guardians and hopes of getting a VQ at the 6:00 drop. Extra hours for deluxe guests tonight.

August 20 ~ MK for hopefully short lines with it being a party day. Will try for a Tiana VQ. Evening at Disney Springs to see the new drone show.

August 21~ potential 4 parks day to end at MK with extra evening hours for deluxe guests.

August 22 ~ AK for shows, general wandering around and lunch at Nomads. May try to see Fantasmic this evening.

August 23 ~ Melinda (you may remember her from the boards as pepperandchips) arrives! Hanging at MK with a must do of the new Country Bears show. Dinner TBA…..maybe a Skyliner crawl?

August 24 ~ probably AK and a little park hopping. Dinner at Topolinos with Melinda and Billie.

August 25 ~ the sad last day! MK as long as possible before heading to MCO.

1 week to go!

Hi everyone from beautiful Prince Edward Island!
Nice. :)

One of the few provinces/territories I haven't been to yet (that and NL... technically I touched Yukon (train in Alaska turned around in it) but I don't count that one either.)

Coming up soon!

<sigh>
Still not familiar with the new passes yet so had to see which was which. :)
Finally got “Up Close with Rhinos”.
Oh, nice! I've tried for that one a few times too, with no luck.
Melinda (you may remember her from the boards as pepperandchips)
I do remember the name, but don't know if I've ever "spoken" to her.

Your plans sound great!

Isn't it nice to have some new adventures along with some old favorites? We loved Tiana's and the New Country Bears.

So jealous with all of your trips! I will be living through you and your social posts! Sounds like it will be yet another great trip.

That sounds like heaven. It must be beautiful there. :)

It looks like you have a great trip planned.

Aug 25th is our arrival day. We'll be at Epcot after checking in at POR, then going to AK after 2pm.
I guess we will have to wait until December to see you. At least it won't be so hot then. :)

You’ll have to come to PEI one summer!
Still not familiar with the new passes yet so had to see which was which. :)
Think old fast pass system except now you have the “pleasure” of paying for it.

Thanks Ariella! 2024 is turning into a great Disney year. I have a December trip in the works too.
Your plans sound wonderful and how nice to have so many days with friends!
I’m excited to hear all about it when you return!
Say Hi 👋 to our Dis friends for me!
I’m excited! Even though I will be sad to leave PEI, it’s nice to have something fun to look forward to.
That sounds like heaven. It must be beautiful there. :)
It is spectacular. You will have to plan a trip here one summer.

Sounds like it will be December. Do you have any big plans this trip?

This will be a repeat of our trip last September. It was our first trip with Dana's sister and she had a great time. It felt good that I managed to not make her hate it. :rotfl:She shared a room with my sister. It worked out well. Now we just have to hope there aren't any hurricanes.

Hoping for no hurricanes and/or flight cancellations as well.

So I am staying in Disney a little longer than anticipated…..I got an email that my flight home on August 25th was canceled!!

I had booked on Canada Jetlines (small sun run carrier) and they are not operating all of August!! But not notifying passengers until 14 days out. So. I was scrambling for a replacement for Sunday night. Here were my options….

West Jet ~ $720 at 5 am
Air Canada - $1100 at 9 pm
Porter ~ $620 at 8:45 pm

I decided to look at the 26th and found a Porter flight for $440. So nabbed that then checked the DVC website for a studio for the night of the 25th. I lucked out with a studio at Old Key West for 11 points.

Luckily I had insurance and will get a refund with the airline. Buyer beware…sometimes things are too good to be true. BUT I get an extra day with Melinda and Billie so that’s pretty awesome! Thank goodness for an AP and DVC. :)

Airlines are so shady the way they operate!!! I swear! How are they allowed to over book flights? It's all crazy. glad it worked out in the end! And more Disney is always good!

How could an airline cancel a flight like that so close to departure? That would be tough if you didn't have the flexibility to stay another day. We liked our stay at OKW but it is a lot of messing around to change rooms.
