Since getting home from my Kidani solo trip last week I have been obsessed with getting back there. I have been gently and regularly prodding DH who loves BWV because he needs a scooter and can easily get to Epcot and DHS from BWV. Well tonight he finally gave the go ahead for me to try to switch our October F&W trip from BWV to Kidani. I was ECSTATIC until I checked availability and no HA 1 bedroom is available there (not surprised). I am going to call MS in the morning and get on the wait list but the odds are against us because I will need a whole week (don't want to do a few days at a time and risk having to move). I feel a little disloyal to BWV but Kidani has stolen my heart. If there is anyone out there who can put in a good for us with the Kidani pixies...

Jean...here's hoping that things work out for you. It was obvious from your trip comments that you've been smitten by Kidani. It's great to be able to try out so many choices when going back to WDW time after time.

Don't worry, BWV isn't going anywhere and you'll still find that you are drawn back there. But in the mean time, I hope your reservation comes through and you get to enjoy AKV once again.

You're not a traitor. You're just flirting a little with another resort. :)

Wow! You really love Kidani. I hope your WL comes through, I'm sending some pixie dust your way. pixiedust: Just think, if your WL comes through, some person is going to REALLY luck into your BWV villa for F&W!

I love AKL and have only stayed at Jambo - I can't wait to stay at Kidani! Love their pool/mini water park/slide...

Good luck with your waitlist.

My DD has been on the waitlist for a BWV 1 bedroom standard for nearly 3 months. They are trying to move from BCV. Things move around the closer you get.

Good luck on your waitlist, Jean! I'm right there with you on Kidani! I must admit I was a bit disappointed after our first two AKV stays at Jambo. I wanted to like it more than I did. All I could do was wish I was at OKW. BUT....Since we have been staying at Kidani, I'm more than pleased with our purchase! Glad you agree!:thumbsup2

I got on the wait list this morning. I know that HA 1 bedroom savanna view rooms must be very few and I am not willing to book a day at a time as they become available, so I am not holding my breath. But I will stay on the list until 7 days prior and call after that, so who knows? Worst case scenario is we have a BW view room for F&W and that's not so bad! :rotfl2: I just think that DH will like having the animals outside when he is not up to doing the parks and I like how easy it is to get to the stores and restaurants on 192. The church in Celebration is easy also!

Obviously smitten by Kidani most would have a hard time giving up a reservation at BWV during F & W!

I feel a little disloyal to BWV but Kidani has stolen my heart. ...

So, I am not alone! :rolleyes1

OKW is my all time favorite resort but like you, we stayed at Kidani for the 1st time last August, 2 nights in a 2br standard view. I tolerated Jambo strictly to give new friends and guests a new savanna experience. I didn't like the dark decor nor the layout. But Kidani.........Wow!

I've stayed there 2 times since and our 3rd wll be in August for 4 days. It's a battle between OKW & Kidani!

The master bath, the 3rd bathroom, the underground parking garage, the long balcony, I don't even need the savanah! Luckily I've gotten a partial savanah view even in the standard 2br!

I totally understand, here's ton's of pixie dust ! pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: Good Luck!

Since you want to move, hope you get it, but it would be very hard for me to give up BW during Food and Wine.

Kidani is not going anywhere.

I guess I should not be too upset having too rough it with a 2 bedroom savannah Kidani for the last weekend of food and wine. but I really have no desire to stay at animal kingdom for some reason, I really hope we can get beach club or boardwalk instead of animal kingdom.

I hope the wait list comes through for you! AKV has taken a piece of my heart away from VWL.

Yes, we liked the proximaty to Corpus Christi Church in Celebration too, and LOVE the eateries on 192! Just last night Dick was saying he wanted to go to Sweet Tomatoes for dinner. Unfortunately, the 1800 trip was a bit far for an evening.
;)

Jean, why does your DH not like to use the buses with the ECV? When I needed to use one for a couple of trips, I thought using the buses was super easy. It was certainly easier than having Dick load and unload the thing from the vehicle. I have no problem waiting for ECV's to load at the bus stops, because if you need one, you need it, and the rest of the public needs to accept that. Walt would not like to hear people are feeling like they can't participate because of a physical short coming.

Now, to those of you able bodied people who feel it necessary to "judge" when someone uses an ECV...Not all limitations are necessarily visible to your eye. The two trips I needed to use one, it was because of a post viral chronic fatigue syndrome that would have kept me home from vacation if I hadn't used one. The time our 30 YO DDIL was along, she needed it because she was recovering from a broken back. She got all kinds of nasty looks being so young and appearing to be "able bodied", but believe me...She wasn't. No one should ever feel like they are being a burden to society because of a physical limitation.

Ha ha! Our "affair" was with VWL! Well it was such a hot and heavy romance, we bought points there! Since the budget can't provide for two loves, we had to "divorce" from our BWV contract!!! Like Granny said, BWV isn't going anywhere!:goodvibes

I love Sweet Tomatoes also and saw the one on 192 but never got there, unfortunately. 5 days is too short a time.
Someone gave DH dirty looks once because it took a while to load his ECV onto the bus. That was it. He dreads the buses now, so we drive if we can. MK is the big problem. Valets at Contemporary told us we can valet park there but I know that DIS folks think this is a huge no-no.

Look at it this way, you are giving somebody else a chance to experience BWV. I think the only reason I was able to snag a 1BR @ BCV for Oct. is because some wonderful BCV owner decided to do the same thing you are. To that person I say THANK YOU! :thumbsup2

If they told you that you could valet park at the Contemporary then you should feel free to do so. Those valet lots are never near full, you wouldn't be inconveniencing anyone. Who cares what anyone else thinks? Those people should all feel lucky they don't have to use a scooter or a chair.

Exactly! That is what I meant by most too. If someone gives anyone in an ECV a dirty look SHAME ON THEM, not shame on the person in the ECV! I'd be inclined to say something to someone who did that. In fact, I've done it before when people complained about having to change seats to accommodate an ECV. The people in question said they thought it should be first come first served instead of them having to move for the scooter. I told them they were just lucky they COULD get up and move and not need that scooter. That shut them up on that ride at least.:rotfl: In case you haven't guessed it before this, I am NOT shy to keep people fair!
