I called today to see if I could get a lake view room at BLT for May. I can't even waitlist it because I'm out of points. I only had enough to waitlist a standard view. I've got no points to use until I can borrow from Aug 11 UY. Darn family accepting my offer to rent points from me so we can all go in December.

Easy fix. It's called an add-on.

I sense an add-on in my future by this time next year for the same reason.... but not due to family renting points... simply because I AM an addict. There, I said it. I need my DVC fix... and the more often, the better

I know the feeling. The incentives for an AKV add-on are pretty tempting - APs and 2009 points. Since I have a March UY I have to act soon to take advantage of the 2009 points offer. I'm even considering going up to 160 points (maybe a 50-50-60 split or something) to get the 8 APs which will give us 2 years of park visits, in addition to the extra points which we can bank. The value of the 8 APs for the 4 of us is around $3200 and the 2009 points would be like another $1600, so its almost a $5000 incentive.

You do pay full price, $112/pt, for taking advantage of the incentives but if you factor in the value of the incentive against the purchase price it brings the price per point down to around $82/pt which is below many resales right now.

I think the points fairy needs to drop off a add on for me. I'd love to add on but can't afford it right now. Maybe I can convince my DH when Hawaii opens.

I hear you. I'm in forever borrow status until we do an add-on thanks to treating family. It will work for now but we have to do split stays in order to make it work. We need more points!!!

I am already 45 points into my 2011 use year and I have to bank a bunch of points in 2011 to take the niece and nephew to DL in CA in 2012 so I won't have as many points to use in 2011 as I do for 2010 and I am not happy. I might be adding on in the next week or so.

I hear ya loud and clear! Darn kids anyway! But we just got back from a wonderful trip with the kids and grandkids and I wouldn't give that up for anything. Just have to do some conservative trips for the next couple years and hope to get caught up! I'd rather do an add on though...just not sure it will be in the cards for quite a while. Sigh!!!

I have completely forgotten about transfers...and that is such a good point "no dues" im thinking a transfer is a way better idea than an add on
