He was worried about social niceties and he stands in a store yelling at someone? Very ironic.

That's what I was thinking. That isn't polite at all and he should have been ashamed of himself for acting like that all over a "thank you."

I'm so sorry he yelled at you and your DH. You guys didn't deserve that.

I'm sorry that happened to you, what a crazy idiot. At such a moment, to be able to walk away takes alot of strength.

I do that sometimes too. Sometimes I just smile at the person as a thank you and they might not see it, or I say thank you very quietly.
