Anyone else ever seen this? It was incredible....I was actually riding the people mover thingy that kinda tours all the attractions around Futureworld, and when we entered Space Mountain I heard "Please wait in your vehicle and a host or hostess will be with you shortly" or something along those lines. There were no activity at all.

Then we got to the main part where you see the lines/loading area, but there were the brightest lights shining everywhere...almost blinding. So I had a clear view of the coaster. MIL took a pic. It looked a lot like those cat and mouse rides actually. In a way it was disappointing, but on the other hand, it was cool to see the actual tracks. BTW, the ceiling is coverered in what looks like gray spray-on insulation.

Yes! On our last vacation the same thing happened when we were on the Transit Authority. Space Mt. was closed down for a bit and when we drove thru on the Transit Authority, the lights were on in Space Mt. and it weird to see. I like it better in the dark! :D

We've seen it. Happened upon it the same way you did on the TTA. We were killing time before the start of MVMCP and saw the whole thing lit up!! It was fun to see!!!

over a year ago a CM friend and I went over with camera in hand knowing that it was scheduled for it's routine maintenance. She took one and a half rolls of film   Guess it's just not something you see everyday. We went around the TTa three times to get all the angles and shots.

Yes, in September. I also took some pictures but neither turned out very well. Too much reflection for the glass. What hit me was that the track didn’t take up much of the inside!!!

I have seen that also whilst on TTA.

Felt real sorry for the people on the ride during the break-down though especially the folk on the 'climb' at the beginning.
We went round a couple of times, so we could get a good look.

Pintrader,

Very amazed at how you managed to schedule a trip on TTA whilst SM was having maintenance (sp).

Impressed!!

Yeap, we have seen it. The ride was broken down & we were next in line & they had to turn the lights on & make repairs. We had an awesome ride.

I've seen it also, and from the TTA. The lights in there were not too bright, a little dim, but it was a very special sneak-peek.
It was awesome !

When my friend and I were there in Sept. 2000, we were actually riding SM when all of a sudden it stopped in the middle of the ride. We had to sit there for a few minutes and then they had us exit the ride. We went back through a different hallway and got to be the first ones back on it when it started up again. It was pretty cool.

When I was there in January of 1999 Space Mountain was down for refurb but the TTA was still running. I got video of it with the work lights on. It sure is an impressive building.

Actually if you participate in the Disney YES program with students and elect to take the Properties of Motion Science program, you do go into SM with the lights on. The kids actually do experiments with the lights on first and then eventually with the lights off as the public generally does. Quite a wonderful experience.

Harvey, can you post the picture?

Or does anyone have one?

I did not take a picture, i just saw it.

I would be interested in seeing a photogragh though.

We got to ride it with the lights on once. It stopped just as we were on the "launch" just below the "control room". When they got it working again they continued the ride with the lights on. The ride was more scarey in the light because of what seems like really low hanging metal framework over your head. Then they sent us around again with the lights off. Once in a lifetime....

wow that would be something really cool to ride it with the lights on... i would imagine that it was very scary with the low beam work. Its safe enough to put your hands up but man at the back of my head... no way i am holding on all the way.

Here is a picture from the TTA...

This happened to my son and I. I never got to ride it again. DS was 9 at the time, he refused to give it a 2nd.:(
