i got the disney credit card now what?!!

i do know that for every 100.00 that i spend i get one point. what type of purchases are we talking about. i don't think that balance transfers would count. boy would that be nice. please tell me what i can puchase with these points.

Once you earn points you call and get the rewards card which is basically a gift card of sorts. You can use what you have earned at WDW, DL, disney store and such. It takes a while to earn enough to do much of anything. I have charged out the wahzoo paid it off and charged again, and made not even 200 yet. It's a cute looking card, but the rewards points take IMO longer to rack up than my Universal card. Oh well cute card though.

As long as you pay it off each month it's good. If you pay any interest you are not gaining anything.

yeah, it's great to use it just to earn points. here's the kicker. if you use it purchase your disney vacations or at disney store you earn double points. i've had mine for about 1.5 years, i put part of a disney cruise, my disney trip this year and everything in between on it (and paid it off) and earned 186 points, that's $186 in spending money for my trip this year! that's worth it to me if i was going to use a cc to book trips anyway! bonus!!! i think its a good deal if you know you are going to use the points at disney. otherwise something like an airline miles card might be a better deal.

You earn points on ALL purchases. It's one point for every $100 you spend.

My first thought when I read the title was USE IT!

Seriously though, it does not work for balance transfers, but it does work for all new purchases and Disney purchases count twice.

I have close to $100 already for our April or October 2007 trips.

Boy, my husband better not read this thread... We emptied the points on the card for our trip last December (only 9 months ago) and I just ordered my rewards card for our September trip - we've got 460 points to spend. We do use the card for EVERYTHING (gas, groceries, etc, etc)... but wow! We must spend alot!

The nice part is, the points will cover most of our food purchases this trip!!!

We got our card in May, just a few months ago and have over 70 points on it right now. I've already cashed out 20 of them and received my card, I'll add the remainder before we leave on the 23rd!!

We do use if for everything!! We also use it as our debit card and pay it off as soon as it hits the statement online so we don't incur any finance charges at all.

We got ours also to use in place of our debit card. I got the card on August 2nd and just checked our account online. We already have 15 reward dollars! I know, not much, but every little bit helps. By the time we go to Disney in December, I figure we should have about $75 to spend. Not too bad on such short notice.

When I read this yesterday (the above posts about earning double points) I was thinking, are you sure? Because it doesn't seem like I'm earning double points for my purchases at Disney and I've used it to book my trip and pay it in full and several purchases here at The Disney Store and at their online shopping.

Maybe they used to offer double? Or it was a *promotion* at the time that person got their card?

All I know is we don't get double for our Disney purchases.

That's exactly what we're doing! It's a shame that we couldn't charge the framing package or the concrete. We'd have a whole lot more points. Still, we've racked up plenty for a nice, relaxing vacation once our house is finished.
