I am so excited!! I booked the Breathless fireworks cruise way back on May 15 for our 10th anniversary trip in August. :woohoo: I couldn't post before because I surprised DH with the trip info for Father's Day and I was afraid he'd see my posts here. I've been dying to ask questions and get info from my fellow Disers! So, what do I need to know?? They told me soda and snacks are provided. DH would like to enjoy a beer or two :drinking1 while watching the fireworks. I was told I couldn't bring anything with me, but that I could have it delivered. Anyone know who I call to get that arranged? Also, please share stories about your cruise, I'd love to hear it!!

Wow...made it all the way to page 4 in less than 24 hours and not one response. Hasn't anyone gone on this??? :confused3

  party: party: party: we have taken this cruise before you will love it. You can get a total of 7 people 3 way in back t3 in the center and one with the driver. If you are lucky the driver will give you a quick speed ride. This year with the new prices and snacks don't know if I like this. They are suppose to give you soda, water, chips and popcorn. The boat is so nice would not want to mess it up.

They will take you to under the bridge between England and France a wonderful view ofd the fireworks.

You were so lucky to get this if we can answer any other questions just ask.

Take your camera get pictures.

Have a wonderful time.

Thanks for replying! I know I was lucky, and I didn't even plan it! Originally I called to book the pontoon cruis. Of course I started calling at 6:55am, and got through to a person at 7:02. I blurted out my info, the lady laughed and said "no problem.....Oh, no, they're all gone" I laughed and told her I started calling 10 minutes ago, that this was a surprise for my DH and I would call her tomorrow and try again. Then she said, "hold on, let me check something." A few computer clicks and she says, "do you want the Breathless cruise?" Did she really have to ask??!! I squealed 'yes!!' into the phone and it was all set!!!   She's the one who mentioned to me that I could get refreshments :drinking1 or a special dessert delivered to the boat. I really can't wait! It's the first night of our trip, I hope we're not too tired from the trip down!

Jacksmom- don't know about the drinks or food - we did this after dinner at the very end of last Sept right before they upped the $$ and added the extras. I had booked this for DH and I and our 'boat fanatic' Fl friends - who ended up not being able to join us - so just DH and I  (oh yeah, and the boat captain, but he was cool!) We loved our ride both before and after Illuminations up the back canal as much as we loved the show - this boat really moves and you are low to the water - great ride! Our captain told us lots of info behind the Illum story (even a few things that I didn't know already ;) ) - tied us up in front of the bridge, actually, and the only complaint I had was that lots of the fine black ash fell on us (even though the smoke wasn't a problem) - but all of the people on the bridge were getting covered with it as well - in fact, a week later we watched Illum from Mexico and pieces of burning ash fell on people! So, you might not want to wear your very favorite, expensive white shirt  - but hope you have as much fun as we did! It's something we'll never forget - we thought it was very romantic! :smooth:
Hope you find a way to get a cold beer on board - that would have delighted my DH, too!

I don't have any advice but wanted to say I'm jealous! This sounds like lots of fun. Enjoy...

:thanks:

I'm sure we'll have a great time!

I booked the Breathless for our August trip, and got it on my second try. I was sooo excited too. I was told if we wanted dinner delivered on the boat you have to call private dining 48 hours prior to the trip at 407-934-3160. I would think you would call the same number to have drinks delivered too. When Aug will you be going?

Wish they hadn't change the price to $250 it was high before.

Did you call the private dining line? Hard to eat on breathless last time we went on the driver was so careful of the boat.

Have a wonderful time   party: party: party:

We didn't call the dining line as we plan to have dinner before the cruise. I don't think eating on that boat will be very comfortable.

Thanks for the number! We're going on Sunday the 13th. I can't wait!

:sad2: I just posted a new thread about my recent bad experience with a Wishes reservation that was screwed up. So, please call back and double check your reservation before you go so that it doesn't happen to you too! I am jealous because I was soooo looking forward to that cruise!! :sad2:

The information I have for the Breathless cruise says it costs $190 w/ tax. The pontoons are closer to $250. Is this what you were referring to?

We just got back from a 9 night WDW trip which included a Breathless Cruise on Fathers Day. If you want to order something other than soft drinks and snacks call the Yacht Club Dining at 407-934-3160. We ordered some beer for the cruise. There was a pontoon boat that had pizza etc for a child's birthday.

We had Michael for a Captain and he was fantastic. This was the 4th time we've done the Breathless Illuminations Cruise and he was by far the best Captain we've had. Previous times we've done short jaunts at higher speeds but this trip was an all out drag race.

We started out cruising slowly towards MGM as usual. When we got back to Cresent Lake we still had some time before Illuminations so Michael said "Let's give the Boardwalk a show" and he floored it past the BW. When we got to the ESPN area he did a sharp left and hammered it out into the middle of the lake.

That was just the beginning. After the fireworks he took us back to the channel between the Swan and MGM and repeatedly zoomed up and down the canal with numerous donuts etc in front of MGM and along the walkway by the BW. We then went back to Cresent Lake and made 3-4 passes in front of the BW and out into the middle of the lake. About that time Michael said it was time to head back. Our two DS's said "Cmon, Just one more!" His response was "OK, since it's fathers day, we'll go for another spin". Back down the MGM canal we went for 4-5 more passes and donuts. One of the last passes he cut it the sharpest he had and a big wave flowed into the boat all over us. It was GREAT! All 5 of us laughed and laughed the whole time.

It was definitely worth the money. The other times we've done the Breathless were good, but this time was unforgetable. It's a Fathers Day I won't soon forget.

party: party: party:   The new cost for both breathless and the pantoon is $250 for both.

My dh and I were married and honeymooned @ DW in 96. We had just finished college, were broke, and had no idea about all the extras at DW. My husband spotted the Breathless from the pool at the BC and ran to the railing at the lakes edge to watch it. He drooled our whole trip over that boat. He asked if there was an available time opening to rent it but there wasn't. When we returned home he told every male we came in contact with about the Breathless. Fast forward to 1999 and we returned to DW for someone else's wedding. I had not discoverd the Dis at that time so I had no clue how to book in advance. We walked by the dock many many times, talked to any cast memeber who was unfortunate enough to be working when we passed and again was disapointed to find all the reservations taken. And then I found the DIS!! OOOH I had been educated by the DIsers and I no longer was a wandering tourist on vacation I was armed with information and we were no longer poor college kids. I got up at the crack of dawn every morning when my 180 days began. On the third morning it was ours. Keep in mind DH had no idea. I told him I was trying to get reservations at the castle. HA! He fell for that! I explained to the CM that this was going to be a big surprise for my husband. I called the dock the day we got there and told them that my DH was a huge fan of this boat and the cast member helped me work up a scenario where we would just be walking by right before illumination. The driver had the boat in the water running and that obviously caught my DH attention. He walked right up to the captain and told him he wanted to book that boat and he didn't care what it cost. The captain told him it was booked for the night but he could walk onto the dock and look at it if he wanted. of course he did and we all walked over to the boat. The captain then said if he wanted he could get in because the guests had not arrived yet. He was sitting in the boat asking what do you have to do to book this boat and the captain went through this whole story about how hard it is to get the Breathless reservation or you could just have a great wife who did it for you. Not getting it he said yeah babe do that for me next time we come and I got to say ok but lets do it on this trip to make sure you like it. The captain then turned and told him he was the guest he had been waiting for. This is one of my favorite memories of my husband. And for the record we book it everytime we go now. We have taken DH's parents and our oldest daughter. On this trip we are taking my parents, brother, and both our children. This boat ride is true Disney Magic for us and nothing comes close to it for our family. You will have a great time. I have to admit that I really don't watch very much of the fireworks. It is hard for me to stop looking at my husband and the joy on his face. Here is hoping your trip on the Breathless is as magical as ours. :cool1:

Thanks graciepooh! What a great surprise!! We honeymooned there in '96 as well! I'd love to do this for my parents next time they come with us. In 2004, my dad got up early one morning to walk around the lake and met the mechanic for the boat. I know he would love to do this.

Illuminations is my DH's favorite thing at WDW. I absolutely can't wait for him to see it from the boat!

What a nice story.

Like you in the 1990's my husband & I were watching the fireworks from the bridge right before you go into the back part of Epcot. When we hear a boat motor we looked down intot the water and saw breathless surprised we quickly went over to a CM nearby. Then we were told about the cruise boats. Much to our delight we also wanted to take this cruise. We tried as you to book one no luck. Like you we learn and the next time we went to Disney with the family we were on the breathless. Took a lot of early morning calls to finally get one for a day on our trpip.
Wow the kids loved it so much this made our Disney trip so special.
Have a wonderful time    party: party: party:
