My ex is a cop and we lived in a fairly small town. He was a training officer and trained the rookies.

I was driving to work one day and suddenly saw the lights behind me. Now half the time, it was one of the guys stopping me to tell me something but this time it was someone who was serious. The guy asked for my license and registration and told me I was speeding. When he saw the registration (which had my name AND my ex's), the poor guy freaked. He told me, "Mrs. W, if it's not too much trouble, would you please mind slowing down just a bit?"

When I told my ex that night, he about died laughing. Turns out, this was the guy's first morning on the road by himself and my ex and not signed off on his paperwork yet. The poor guy was terrified that my ex would cut short his career as a police officer before it even started. (Just for the record, my ex can be a jerk but he would never have held this against him--even if he'd written me the ticket I deserved.)

I am 0-2 when trying to get out of tickets. Luckily now I just don't get stopped cuz of the PBA shield on my car.
