I got some Pixie Dust today!!

I just wanted to relay something really great that happened to me today with member services! We have a reservation coming up that starts on Thanksgiving day at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for 10 nights- The bad thing about it was that when I booked a few months ago, they had no availability for Thanksgiving night and I had to purchase a room on cash- $358.60 to be exact-Thats alot of money when you actually have the points just sitting there to use!!

Anyway, I call every week to see if a studio at ANY RESORT might have availability ( I didn't want to deal with a waitlist) and every week I'm told "NO"....Today I called and they actually had a studio open for that night and I got it, saving myself $358.60!!!! I am thrilled!!!!

Just curious why you didn't want to deal with a waitlist. You could have waitlisted two options and have that working for you in the background while you continue to call every week. Personally I've had good luck with a waitlist for a single night though it wasn't for a holiday.

Well I just was not sure how that would work with the other part of my reservation that begins the next day for nine nights, where this was on cash-also didn't want them to mess up on the REFUND to my credit card- I've also been waitlisted before for rooms and had great luck with it- but never had to actually BUY a room! I was so scared that they would somehow cancel my entire reservation leaving me with NO room for ten nights!

Whats ironic is that this past weekend, my washer DIED and I had to go buy a new one and I fretted ALL day saturday about spending the money on that room out of my own pocket and now my washer quit- well how wierd is it, that the price of that room and the price of that new washer (on sale of course) was within $8.00 of each other!!
