I got power !!!

After 26 hours, finally I got out of the blackout. I can surf DIS again.

Got plenty of workout though. Walk down from work building. Walk 60+ blocks back home. Then walk up 18 floors. Walk back down to release my doggie. Walk back up carrying my poor dog.
Repeat that 5 times!! With no running water, and no food at home.

People are generally pretty friendly here in NYC. Not jacking up the price. Stores actually sold their food cheaply last nite. People partying on the street, singing along. Sirens everywhere, so I didnt' get much sleep. Woke up at 6am and waited in line for bottle waters.

But, first time I can actually see stars along with the moon in the city. It's quite an experience I must say !

yeah, even with the floodlights they had in front of Penn, I could look up and see stars. it was amazing.

I would have NEVER made it up 18 flights of stairs! That is amazing. I am so glad so many of our DIS family has power back

Thanks! I was surprised too I can make it up 18 flights. And then have the courage to do it again, and again, and again. When the elevator comes back on, even my dog has a grin on his face.

My legs are so soar today.

It never occured to me that you can't see the stars from NYC. What a nice happening in a bad situation

18 flights is a lot! Yuck!
