I got Photo Impact Pro 11! Now what?

Hey guys! I am soooo inspired by just looking at your artwork that I had to go out and buy the program and at least try to do some designs of my own. I bought Photo Impact Pro 11 and installed it. I've also downloaded some cute disney clip art and the Walt Font. Now what?? I really want to make a sippy cup insert for my son's playtex sippy cup and also some stick figures for my family. Can I do that with PIP? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I would love just some basic tips. I've read the whole thread on Design tips but I just need pointing in the right direction if anyone is willing... please?? I will be forever in debt! Thanks!

Oh my gosh, there is so much to tell and I am not very good at doing it by print. I wish you lived next door I would stop over and show you want I know, which is limited.
What I did to learn (I have PI 10) is start out with a blank board and then go to Object, insert file. That would be your back ground. then you can build on that. your next step could be to insert gifs. Gifs are clip art with no white back ground so you can drop them on your background and they look like they belong there. then do your text. I love playing around and making my text stand out. In my program you go to texts/paths effects, then Material Attribute gallery. also you can right click on the test when it has the dotted marching lines going around it and hit the "edit attributes" button. you can then play around with the color and the size. If you want your font to look 3D play with the bevel function.
also, do a search to find on line tutorials. they can be helpful. I am still learning and I am not as talented as others. I am getting ready to upgrade to 11. Take care and have fun, Penny
