Quick and casual dinner for an adult at Liberty Inn if you get the most expensive combo is 6.99, ice cream sandwich 3.00 and a coke is 1.99 totaling 11.98
The voucher is 11.25
is it worth it to save .73 because I was thinking, most people would not even get the ice cream sandwich when ordering anyway, so you have already spent over 3.00 that you normally would.

and let me know if I am totally wrong

Thanks

Depending on hwere you use the voucher, it can be a great deal. We used it at Beachs and Cream, ordered the Kitchen /sink for desert. For our $11.25, we got about $35 dollars worth of food and desert. The Kitchen Sink was approx. $20 alone.

sorry I misquoted the vouchers for breakfast are 17.75 / Chef Mickeys is 16.99

as far as counter service: even with tax and gratuity (which I do not pay for gratuity when I go to counter service and I still do not know many people who buy ice cream sandwiches/dessert when going to counter services)

I really do not see any savings here.

A normal counter service meal:
coke, and the biggest sandwich they have with fries: 8.98,

a normal sandwich with fries and a coke is: 7.58
the voucher is 11.25

and again, I do not give tips to counter service people so it looks to me that buying these things really just makes you feel like you have to get the biggest thing on the menu plus items you would not normally buy just to get pass the original price you paid for them.

I am unsure but dont they charge you shipping to send those vouchers to you or do they include that in the price?

I just wanted to state that for people who are really trying to save money at Disney World this is not the way to go, unless you are buying the most expensive thing on the menu and plan on getting dessert with every meal. Even then with the counter service vouchers you will probably only save some change. (and that is if the simpleescapes dont charge you shipping to send those vouchers to you, which I am unsure of so I am not making any argument on that)

Even though we have reservations for Chef Mickeys and other character meals I still think I am going to pass on these vouchers. Even with tax and gratuity for three people (I do not normally tip real high at buffets since they are not actually "waiting on me") it does not seem like such a savings to me.

just one accountants opinion

on the budget forum there is a lot of info about these and it seems the best saving are marked with a* on one of the first few posts there....some save a lot, depending on where you go. you can check the menus and see for yourself if this would apply to yu or not..some places do not look worth it but some definitely do, especially if you split a meal like we plan on doing for the lunch vouchers

does any one know if these deal pass vouchers are the same as the connection vouchers????

In reference to the last two responses.....which restaurants have an asterick?
and...I thought it was stated that the "Kitchen Sink" was not included at Beaches and Cream.
Thanks........

go to budget board, first"important",second post down and all the "good-great" places are * or **. then you can go to the menus(the counter service dining are on www.wdwig.com under dining /menus) and check and see if the vouchers would fit your needs. most places it appears they would break even at least, but some are giant savings.

Since I have been quoted a lot, I would just like to state again:

I only made this comment about not saving any money because I noticed that a lot of people on these boards are trying to save money, even going as far as taking in their own boxed lunches into the park, putting bottled water in their back packs.
I want everyone to do their research before going and buying the vouchers.

We will be at Disney from Oct. 17-Nov. 2, we will be eating at 4 character meals, Backyard BBQ, 3 different countrys in Epcot...etc., etc., although we eat at these eateries, we do not buy the vouchers, there are 3 of us, DH, me and DS (DS is 4).

There are a lot of people who purchase them and swear by them, I am just not one of those people.

I do not buy desserts when I am eating at a fast food establishment, I do not give gratuity at Cosmic Rays (example). If you normally split a hamburger, french fries, salad, coke and an ice cream sandwich, maybe this is the way to go for you. (I couldnt get my husband to split a hamburger with me if I tried)

Again, I am just stating that for the people who are trying to save money and who would not buy all the extra salads, ice cream sandwiches and other friles these vouchers have with them, this is not a savings. To make the vouchers a big savings, you either will eat at eateries you would not normally eat at, or have to get a lot of things you would not normally buy, in which case you have ended up spending more money then necessary.

since I have never atually put this theory to the test I may be eating my words come Jan.(LOL)...however....by going over the menus I do feel the vouchers would help a lot. for example at Cosmic rays' ( since it was mentioned)you can get a
$, 6.991/2 chicken with mashed potatoes
2.29 a drink ( I believe you can get a large from other posts)
2.99 a ice cream since who wants a sugar free brownie, I
mean what's the sense(!)

which in this case gives you a saving of about 2 dollars(figuring tax no tip). not great but if you have more than one person, worth it although Cosmic rays is not one I plan to go to. now look at Peppermarket, or beaches and cream or Rainforest Cafe or even the breakfast buffets that are 17.00 without a tax or tip (I think you usually leave at least 15% at these buffets since they still do wait on you for coffee and such unless things have changed since our last visit) and I think you would break even at least, definite savings at most. now if you are not going to split a meal, although its is a large amount of food ,or do not have little ones who you could share a meal with maybe not. I just know from all the people who have used these things they seem to be worth while and personally, I wanted to eat at all the restaraunts listed anyway (Le cellier, marrakas, tangerine cafe, b and c, pep.mark, RFC, kona cafe, concourse, cape may, 1900).

one of the places who offer them has cheaper shipping (would have to go back over the post s to see who)

like everything else they don't fit every one but just can not see how they are worthless unless you only eat a burger and fries at at the cheapest counter you can find. ( that gets old fast for me)

I guess I'll just have to wait and see!

My family and I will be there 10/19-11/1 and we will be a party of 3 DH, me and DD 4yrs. That is very funny.

I have been thinking about getting some vouchers. I think for Cinderella's Royal Table and the Princess Storybook Breakfast the vouchers are worth it. I also think I may get some Q & C just for Beaches N Cream. I hope it is not a hassle to cancel memberships with these free month offers!

There was no problem at all when I called they cancelled my membership right out. I dont think you will have any problem. Just make sure you remember to do it before you get charged LOL.

They kept putting me on HOLD and it took about 30 min to get thru to someone, and they said they needed to talk to a "supervisor" but, they never came back on and I got disconnected but, when I called back, they said my membership had been cancelled!
