I got my military guy!

I just wanted to thank you guys for the link. I just received 2 men, one of which is stationed on the USS Constellation. He is sharing with 1 other person and asked for letters of encouragement since in his words "the troops have been hearing about all of the anti-war sentiment and are getting sad and morale is down". My other military personnel asked for Kraft Easy Mac to share with 10 people. I am going to buy a bunch of cards and have everyone at work sign them to thank these men and women for all they are doing. Once again, thanks for the link I can't wait to get my packages out!!!

They sent me TWO names!

Normally I wouldn't mind, but I've already committed myself to sending packages to TwinMom's son, and 2 names given to me by Tamie (tkyes). I do believe I will be going broke when I'm all done here!

Jeafl- You can save on postage by sending your goodies in a Priority Mail flat rate envelope. Postage is only $3.85, regardless of weight or destination. You can fit a lot of small items in those envelopes. Often times it is cheaper to use one of those envelopes rather than a box. It just depends on the size of the items you are mailing.

I asked for a girl and a guy or 2 guys, I got 2 guys. One just asked for food! and hand sanitizer and the other just asked for whatever. I was so excited, I feel like I have 2 new sons. Cant wait to get the stuff to them.

I signed up yesturday afternoon and got mine this morning. My Dh, BIL and I just got back from wally world. My DH was in the 82nd Airborne and with my son in the Air Force, I'll admit, we went alittle overboard. With the size limits, Ill be sending at least 4 boxes in the morning! We just couldnt help ourselves.

Well, I sent a request on Sunday afternoon and I haven't heard anything yet.
And I sent out another request last night. If I get 2 names as a result that's fine with us.
I'm not too sure though if my request even was sent. When I hit the 'send' botton nothing happens. The screen doesn't change. I did get a pop up email when I hit the 'send' button. So I requested the same info on that and sent the email. I did try to hit the 'send' button again and a pop up widow said that the info on this page was sent.

So who knows.....maybe I'll end up with 3 soldiers!!!

I guess we are just so excited and anxious!! My DD (5yr old) keeps asking several times a day if we have our soldier yet!!
She has already drawn and colored pictures for them!!

I got an email from Arlyn, as I am sure other people did, that said she was excited about the overwhelming response to their pleas.

I did see on the local news this morning where they were speaking to a military wife who set up a similar web site and has been overwelmed as well with requests to help the troops.

So I guess we'll all have to just wait a little longer......but it's worth the wait!!

We requested a K-9 handler (due to our search and rescue work), but received a female naval officer instead.

We'll do what we can for her, but are VERY disappointed that we didn't get the K-9 handler.
