I got it, THE email

, we had a pin code "associated to our home address"

Is this the question you have to ask?

DH was trying to call and see if they had a PIN code for him. However, he asked if the code was attached to his name, not his address. He said the CM didn't seem to know what he was talking about. I just wondered if this was one of those situations where you have to know exactly what question to ask.

The CM I asked acted like he had never heard of a pin code before.

When I called I said I was getting ready to plan a trip and did they have any discounts or pin codes attached to my name or my email address. The CM told me that it isn't attached to your name or email, but that it is your residental address. She knew exactly what I meant and said, she verified my phone and address and said let me see what I can find and then yes you do have a code. I asked her what sort of discount there was and she told me she didn't know that until I gave dates, etc. I told her let me check on all that and I will call back, what do I need to tell the next CM and she then gave me the PIN code and said this will not work for anyone unless they have your address.

I just wish it would have been much more than 5%!!!

I bet! I called with the FL Res code a few months ago and knew I needed a 3 day weekend in July and I wanted BWI. The CM was great, but he kept suggesting everything but BWI. I finally asked him to let me know if that code was available in July at all for BW and he finally found availability for me, the last weekend of July! I couldnt believe it! Of course, we really wanted BW view, but all they had was standard! LOL

It seems like the codes are only useful when your dates are reeeely flexible. :confused3

Personally, if they send you a code, I think they should have to honor it if there is any availability at all, but thats just me =)

I totally agree they should honor the code. How silly is it to tell me there is no avalibility at the WL when I sitting there holding 2 rooms?. They should slap that discount on there and make me happy:yay: . Why does is seem that the CM aree slightly annoyed with guests with codes and diners with the DPP? These "perks" were put into place by Disney yet lately I've begun to feel embarrassed when I tell them, like I don't deserve it.

Has anyone answered the question, what is the subject line of these codes, or is that taboo? If not the subject, who is the sender? I get emails from Disney all the time...DisneyInsider, Disney@Go, DisneyVacations...but what address do the pins actually come from?

Thanks!

I am also interested to know the answer to this question.

The email was from Disney Destinations. I don't remember what the subject line was but I will reply in this thread after I get home from work and tell you what it said.

Well I just called to check since I had to make some dining rearrangements anyway and was told yes I have a code. That it was the same one she had just looked up for someone else and it looked like it was giving about 30% at the poly. I told her I was looking for GF and she told me then I should be able to get the 30%. She quoted me 430/night MK view okay what am I missing here, that is only a $35 discount, not even 10%. The poly priced out at 287/night, $42 savings or about 13% savings. I wish I knew if this just isnt the code she thought or what. She first told me it was packages only, then said she did find it available for room only. Maybe the 30% was only for packages....hmmm maybe I should call again.

oh and by the way, the email address she had for me was unbelievably the aaa agent's address who booked my 2006 vacation. I have booked a new vacation and made several calls and they had never before told me it was on my account.

That really is ridiculous! If they only want to honor 300 codes for a certain time period, they should only mail out 300. But making the resort a crapshoot when you call is really annoying. I get the impression that when you call and say you have a code, they check your resort of choice and if there are already 5 (or whatever the magic # is) codes being used for that timeframe, they say, nope, sorry...At least that the feeling I got when I tried to book using the Fl Ressie code a few months ago.

I got a funny feeling too. I think the CM made up the 5%, the first CM told me it could be room or package even though she didn't know the actual discount offered and the second told me it was package only but the 5% only applied to the room. Does anyone know if they get commission for all they book?

I may try calling back again with the code or asking about it in the next day or so.

We are going 10/12-10/16 Coronado Springs and 12/8- 12/15 Pop Century was able to apply pin to both for room only reservations. Glad I checked!

I am also interested to know the answer to this question.

OK, the email was from Disney Destinations and the subject line said " Save on a vacation this fall, Lisa"

I almost wish I hadn't gotten one, LOL. I gave up my rooms at the WL and ended up with POR and DDP. Not that there's anything wrong with it.:) I'm not finished with CRO yet. Like my DH said last night "we really won't know where we are staying until the night before." The night before? He's really being optimistic!

My email is also from Disney Destinations and says "XXXX Family, your Disney Dream is here!" Unfortunately it's for September and October. We're not even close to being able to vacation that soon. February is the earliest we will be able to even think of going.

This seems consistent with what happened to me. We are going 9-29 to 10-7 and were able to get the current promotion. When I got this email, I had my TA call (twice actually) to see about the discount. We were prepared to shorten our vaca by a day if the price was right. Unfortunately it was not. I was in such a state of disgust and disbelief. I am over it now, but it sure did suck to get my hopes up for an unbelievable discount and then NADA!.

Oh and when I called, they actually had an email address that I have not used in 5 years, yet I got the email at a completely different address???
Very strange. :confused3

Thank you guy's so much, I wish I had gotten the email. I am going 10/7-10/13 and a code would be wonderful, room only or package I am open for either one. Here's hoping a code appears pixiedust:

I received a Disney postcard. My DH almost threw it out! After I finished explaining to him the importance of ANY Disney mail that comes to the house, I looked at the postcard. And there it was. The code. Timing is just everything because I had just confirmed our timeshare at Disney. A day earlier and it would have been perfect. UGH!

Does anyone know how long the codes are for? Can I use it now to book next years room?

There should be dates on your card. My email was good for select dates October thru December.

Mine says the offer is good for stays most nights 9/30-11/19/07, 11/24-11/28/07, and 12/8-12/23/07.

congrats to you all! I have never gotten a code. I had heard that it is usually given in certain areas of the country.Guess they don't feel they need to give them in Masachusetts. We will make our yearly trip in november and hope for a special general public rate. We are usually lucky t get one but my fingers are crossed!

I don't know if this had anything to do with getting an email with a pin number but I check out Disney Destinations within the WDW website a lot http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/yomd/YOMDLanding?id=YOMDLandingPage I always log in. Also there is a place called "Stay in touch" on the borrom left hand corner for your email. It couldn't hurt to try it since the email did come from Disney Destinations. Sometimes a Disney survey will pop up or sent as an email, I always fill it out. Who knows? There has to be a method to the Disney madness :wizard:
