I got FOP FP!!! 50 days out!

It CAN be done! SO EXCITED!!!!
I took the advice of some lovely person on this forum and kept trying and refreshing all day the last week+ and I GOT THEM! And at a perfect time of the day!

I was getting bummed because everyone kept saying the only way was later in the trip, but I go all the time and this particular trip is only 3 park days (a lot for me). I'm going with a friend who hasn't really done Disney properly and never been to AK and wanted sooo badly to get FOP and 7DMT and I (now!) got both!
So happy to be able to post this here - I know you guys get it and the rest of the world for the most part just shakes their head.
By the way, I rode this ride the last 2 Friday nights very close to midnight and waited 45ish minutes each time. It is the best ride. period.

I have a party of 6 and got 3 FOP FPs today. About 53/54 days out or so. I need at least 1 more, ideally three more.

Yesterday was my 60 day mark and I was surprised at the number of FP+ available for FOP, NRJ, SDMT and FEA. Several times available for each attraction, each day of my trip.

My dd got one today for a week from Saturday 9/2 Due to some at home obligations getting canceled, AP's, a great AP room discount and lots of FF miles my oldest dd and I are taking a last minute long weekend trip over labor day.

Started the booking process on Monday, got 7dmt no problem, got frozen yesterday and today mid morning she snagged a FOP on our planned AK day! I will say that I suspect she spent a crazy amount of time on the app refreshing but it can be done

Can someone explain the process of "refreshing" for FPs? Does this only apply when using the app? Do you start by selecting the FP you want to drop in exchange for FOP and then just look for what's available. Where is the refresh button in the app?

Never give up! Keep refreshing! We got FOP same day on 8/15 for a party of 2! We did a FOP for FOTLK just because there was one there and while in line to go in just hopped on the app refreshed the times a few times and there it was! Keep checking!

I am also wondering the best way to refresh on my laptop and in the app on my phone. Is it best to book something that is available and then keep clicking to modify or keep starting fresh and wait to see if what I want pops up?

to refresh in the app (and probably the web), just choose a different time to search. If any are available, it will show regardless of what time you select to search.

Looks like I have a new hobby... today was my FP day, and due to a really late night at work last night, I was foggy this morning and didn't start looking for FOP FPs until 7:08. Got one, for the last day of my trip at an OK time, but not the day I was hoping to make our AK day. So, I have some work to do!

Tuesday was our FP day and there were zero FoP fastpasses for any time on any day of our trip. We were only looking for two FPs and are there for 5 days. Obviously I'll keep checking - I've played the game long enough to know how it works. But it's frustrating for sure. There were passes galore for NRJ, SDMT, FEA, Soarin', and Peter Pan. Just nothing at all for FoP.

Sorry that it's not working out for you. It's so frustrating when that happens. I was really surprised to see multiple FOP availability. I only need 2 as well. I didn't think it would be possible for us to get a FP+ so we decided ahead of time to wait and ride it for the first time with our kids next summer. Hopefully checking often will work out for you!

Hope you were successful! I found one for day 6 of our trip, later in the day. Those were still available later in the afternoon yesterday, haven't looked this morning. I was slow off the mark- didn't start looking until 7:08, so hopefully right at 7am you had better luck!
