I got bit by that darn WDW bug again!!!!

We had been planning on taking DS on his first trip in early 2005 before he turned 3 but lately I find myself daydreaming about taking him sooner. I went over to lurk on the Disney with Families board, I read the FAQ on Infants/Toddlers on Deb's site, etc.

I am mentally debating which resort would be best, should we fly or drive, how much vacation time would I really need to save up, should we bring our own stoller or rent while there, rent a car or take the bus, how can I save enough money?

I am also stating to mentally prepare my arguments for DH to try to convince him. ;)

That bug is powerful!!!! :)

**UPDATE**

I just barely brought up the subject when DH called me at the end of his lunch and I really expected him to tell me that it was probably not the best idea but instead he said that he had been thinking the same thing and he thinks we should seriously consider going as early as this Thanksgiving!!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Just the thought of being able to go to WDW with my son and DH this year has got me so excited!!!! I may actually be able to start planning another trip. :) If we go at Thanksgiving then DS will be 18 months old - is that a good age for a first trip?

We took our youngest for the first time when he was two. If you can go for a low stress trip, where your primary purpose for being there is Nathan's enjoyment, this may be the best trip of your life! My DS's favorites included the tram to/from the parking lot, the boats, the characters (but not too close up, LOL), the monorail, the train, Mickey bars, the fireworks..... you get the idea. Basically you don't have to stand in line for anything!

We thought we would have to rent a stroller but we never did. DS walked the whole time - crashed at the hotel every afternoon and then went strong again until bedtime.

Oh, yes... the resort pool was a big hit too! :)

I don't think it really matters where you stay.... wherever your budget allows. Nathan may help you notice things you never noticed before at WDW. Have a great time!!

(Did I help convince you?) :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Go for it!
My kids had their first trips at 15 months, and 8 months. The memories, pictures & video that we have are priceless. And to be honest, they did have a blast while we were there.
Good luck convincing DH! :)

We're tentatively thinking about going this Thanksgiving, too. DH is still relatively new at his job, though, and all of our family lives out of state, so we may use up all of the vacation time before then visiting family. I don't think there's a bad age for visiting WDW, aside from the first few months when you really don't want the baby to get sick.

I think every age is good for WDW!!!

I agree with jamsmom :teeth:

I can't believe you weren't already planning a trip even if it was 10 years off, you really had that bug in remission didn't you?

How exciting for you!!! I wish my teens would get the "bug" again!!! :jester: :bounce:

if you are a DC member thanksgiving time is considered value season and you get 20% off with DC card and i got a price of about 69.00 a night including tax,for the AS Sports.

It is a wonderful and magical time at that age. Granted he won't remember it when he is older but you sure will! Some of my favorite trips were when the kids were little. You move at a different pace, look at different things and you still have control! LOL! Now my kids know Disney well and tell us where they want to go first, know what food is the best.... can you say Mickey ears! And DD is only 7 and DS is 5! LOL! We have gone every year since DD was 15 months and love it! Each trip is a new adventure to see how they grow and change and as they run over to see if they are tall enough for all the rides! Last trip Ds finally was tall enough to ride splash mountain it was great! If you can swing it! GO!!

We took our twin boys when they were 8 months old and when they were 2 1/2. They probably won't remember either trip but they had a good time. And so did we.

My youngest went at 2 months old. That was an easy trip. She either slept in the Snuggli on my chest or in the Snuggli on dh chest. I was so Disney deprived during my pregnancy that I just had to go asap after I healed from childbirth. High risk pregnacy and the doctor wouldn't even let me go 4 hours to WDW.
