Boy, I need a vacation. This weekend was graduation here. We have four high schools that are represented in our youth group. That makes for a lot of parties when your youth group has over 100 kids in it. I just went to four this weekend, but Stephen fit in about 8 (4 boys had their party altogether, that was nice).
I had a garage sale, what was I thinking. I got a flyer a few weeks ago from someone planning a neighborhood sale. She'd do all the advertising, all I had to do was sell my stuff. Perfect opportunity, and made about $100.
We had a friend (Trevor) in town for graduation, and I had take him to the airport. With the new toll road, about a 35 minute drive. Left about 1:45, dropped him off, went back toward home. About 10 minutes from home, my cell phone rang and it was Trevor, his flight is tomorrow. What?!?!? Serious?!?!? "Yes, I didn't look closely at my ticket. Could you come and get me?" So, turn around, go back to airport.
I have to be at church by 4 for our young adult service. I go directly to church and have Trevor take my car home. This is my last night doing this service. I've served here for over 6 years. This is the bitter-sweet part. I know it's time to move to other places to serve (more drama to be exact), but leaving was hard. These are people I'm very close too. They are like family to me. I'll still see them, a lot them play on Sunday morning, but it's not the same. This is just a special service with awesome music. The pastor made an announcement at the end that this was my last night, and I got a standing ovation! That's never happened to me before. I was so touched. Then there was a little party afterwards. I got home at about 10:00 (been gone since 1:45.)
So, now I am exhausted, a little sad, but looking forward to new opportunities.
Oh yeah, in the midst of all this, Stephen changed the back brakes on my car, and Kimmi got so sunburned on her legs, she's got little blisters.
Calgon, take me away!!!!
