need the characters to stop at your table, DD and I don't really need them to stop sometimes, so what about having a marker-like a mickey head or something, that is placed on the table, that alerts to characters to just wave and go by. It's hard to get across to them when you dont need them to stop. And wouldn't this be helpful to them. Now how do I get this idea to Disney?

I'm sure if you let the right person know they could have the handlers make sure the characters avoid your table. Theres probly not alot of request for the characters to stay away though at the character dining.

I am sure I could tell them, but I think it would be easy with a marker. I dunno, I am sure it is a very small minority that want to be skipped, but hey there are some of us. Plus DD said it would sound rude to ask to be skipped lol

Just curious, why be skipped? I'm not sure any of the meals are good enough to eat without the character interaction.

I think that's a really good idea, but the character meals are not popular enough with people who don't really care about the characters and only come for the food and atmosphere, to really make it worthwhile. :)

To dpuck1998; I think Crystal Palace is worth a visit even if you don't care for the characters. :)

We like Chef Mickey's, but dont need them to stop for us. And a couple others. I dunno, we go alot so maybe thats it too.

We just ate there for breakfast last week. It was pretty good. Nothing special, just pretty good. I prefer Chef Mickeys.:) To each his own. :thumbsup2

You could always just mention to your waitress/waiter that you don't need the characters to stop and to pass the info on to the right person. Just tell the waitstaff that you don't want to waste the characters time seeing that there are so many other people there that do want to see them. :)

We've always just told the server as well.

We're finally at a point where we really don't go to any of the character meal locations anymore and I'm glad they still have a few breakfast buffets that fall into this category (finally tried Boma and loved it!).

Another vote for Chef Mickey's over Crystal Palace. We were there for dinner last year and were thoroughly underwhelmed.

I've eaten 11 character meals over the last 9mo (some were twice at the same one) and I put CP dead last out of all of them!!

Although a bad visit to Crystal Palace is better than an excellent meal at a restaurant near home!

Our worst meal on our last trip was CM - we did CP too. I guess it's just a matter of taste.

When you make your ADR, make it under "Office of Cast Member Benefits" and the characters will boycott your table...;)

I agree about Crystal Palace for Lunch or Dinner, it's not good. I have had breakfast there at least 8 times and its always been great..clean, good food, outstanding service. I have eaten lunch or dinner there about 5 times and everyone was a bad expirience....dirty...cold food.

CP for breakfast ......lite snack for lunch.......and CM for dinner. That to me is a good day of character dining.

I think it's a good idea too. And for me, it's not that I don't care about the characters, but for example, when my mom and I went, we only needed them to stop by once for a picture and then after that we just really enjoyed watching them interact with everyone else, especially the kids. We didn't need to stop by everytime they went by us. And I'm planning a solo trip and I'd like to do a couple character meals, but I think I'd feel sort of silly if they kept stopping at my table.

Ya, I too think there are a few of us out there that could use this little idea. So hey if it is only a few, then they don't need to make a lot of them and it should be easy LOL
