..sadly I have no idea how to use it, but it's pretty :lmao:

What's your favourite BlackBerry application?

I probably use the e-mail (Messages) the most, but Google Maps is pretty cool, especially if your BB has GPS. If you're into Facebook or MySpace, there are good apps for those as well.

lol, that's like my sister. She got a blackberry to keep herself organized, but all she uses it for is to make calls, and she still carries around this giant planner with all her appointments, clients numbers, etc. Basically, she got the blackberry as an expensive way to make phone calls.

I got mine free with my contract - in fact, I got unlimited data thrown in too - for the same price I paid for the last 18 months. I have to keep the phone/contract for another 18 months but that's standard....

I really want to use it to have email/Facebook access at work since I work 7.45am - 6pm most days with NO access to my personal email which kind of sucks. I also want to use Wi-Fi on it (my old cell didn't have this) which will save me carrying my netbook around when I visit friends at the weekends.

Give it a month and you'll be on that thing 24/7 like my husband  :rolleyes1

Sounds like you got a great deal!

The Facebook app is pretty good -- it comes pre-installed on some of the newer BlackBerry's. If it didn't, just go to the usual Facebook website from the BlackBerry's browser and it should detect that you're on a 'Berry and offer to download the app.

If you use any of the IM applications (such as AIM, Yahoo Instant Msgr., MSN), you may have received those with your phone. You have to be a little careful in that some of them use up SMS (text messages) units. If you have unlimited texting, it doesn't matter. If you don't have texting, or a limit, you need to find out whether they use data or SMS. If they're SMS, there are IM apps that use data available.

There's also a BlackBerry Instant Messenger on there, that uses what they call PIN messaging. Basically its a free "blackberry-to-blackberry" messaging service. If you have friends with BlackBerry's, you can set that up. (If you want my PIN, just PM me).

Also, since you do have unlimited data, you may want to download the Opera browser. In some cases it does a better job of rendering web pages than the BlackBerry browser, although the BlackBerry browser has been catching up lately.

Hope you're having fun with it!

Thanks, I have unlimited texting too so no real worries - I don't have time to talk on the phone so I generally keep in touch 'remotely' via text and the internet (Facebook, email etc.) at my convenience.

I didn't know about the PIN thing, that's kind of cool!

Download Opera for the Blackberry http://www.opera.com/mini/download/pc/blackberry/

It's 100x better than the Blackberry browser.

I also love Live365 because I can listen to disney music in the car ;)

How do you listen to Live365 in the car?

I downloaded the Opera browser. Sweet, like zooming in on an area of the page to view.

One of the sole reasons I got my BB because of the GPS capability....love using Google Maps.

I use the calendar to keep track of appointments and schedules. Of course there's texting, and email. I check my comcast account during the day when I can't check it at work (blocked).

The office gave me mine. My favorite feature is Brickbreaker - the game. :rotfl2: Hate the fact that I can get emails on it but I guess that's the whole point. :goodvibes

I am coming out of lurk-dom to post on this thread. You have hit upon my new very favorite subject next to Disney. I got my pink blackberry curve (her name is Molly) in late March and rarely ever put her down. Two of my sisters have them and a good friend of ours. Nothing like bbm someone. No limits on text like with SMS messenging and it's f-r-e-e so if you know other people that use Blackberry's you can start your own little club!

Go over and check out www.crackberry.com - these people are truly nuts over their Blackberries and anything in the world you want to know, they can help you out.

My favorite apps are: Pandora radio (like a genius type radio planning thingy), iheart radio for local stations around the country and my new fav - Slacker radio. With slacker you can "cache" stations if you have a memory card in your phone so that even if you are somewhere with limited reception (office building or subway tunnel), you will still get your tunes. Brilliant and most of all they are all free. Between these three stations, I will never download and pay for music ever again (goodbye ipod). Not start a war or anything, I will use my ipod for stuff I already have but won't be downloading any new stuff.

I also have a weather application, mobile Wall Street Journal, Viigo - gives you news and entertainment and my favorite thing to do - change the themes of your berry! I have a cute as pie Mickey and Minnie theme, a Peanuts theme and an adorable Hello Kitty pink theme. I love that my icons and backgrounds change with my themes. Even the guy at Verizon was digging my Disney theme when I was in there on Saturday.

Ok. I guess, that's enough for now. Can you tell, I love my blackbery? Well I do and I hope you enjoy using yours - as I say on my lock screen - Blackberry isn't just a phone, it's a lifestyle!

P.S. And don't get me started on brickbreaker! That game is addicting. Just don't start planning it if you know what is good for you. PP what is your top score? I am at close to 10,000 points and made it to level 15. I think that's pretty good considering I was stick at level for quite a while.

Which BB did you get? One of my favorite apps because I'm one of *those people* who likes to tweak/personalize every last aspect of everything I own is BBAlerts. You can change the color that your LED flashes when, say, you get a text message or an email or you have an alarm set for something. I just like it because the standard LED colors are boring, so I have my texts set to flash a kind of pink/green combo, emails are a bright pale blue, alarms are kelly green, etc.

I also like the game Word Mole, which came on my Bold; I'm not sure if it comes on other models or not.

My fave. apps are vlingo, facebook, myspace, crackberry launcher, and slacker.
I am addicted to my BlackBerry.
