Please bear with me I have to vent!

I just want to say that I give up!! We leave for WDW in a week and I'm exhausted from all the planning, packing, ressies, and stress of it all!!!LOL I actually use to enjoy that part of trips to WDW, but... Isn't this suppose to be a vacation???!! Why can't I just throw some stuff in a bag, go to the world and enjoy??!! No, I have to pack, unpack, repack. Make ADR's, cancel some, rebook some. Plan out my whole week, where we will go, where we will eat
I just fell like the heck with it all and just wing it! But, the compulsive planner in me knows better. I know that I need a plan to avoid lines and crowds and waiting an hour for a table. Why can't it all be simpler?LOL

It doesn't help that this will be DH and the kids first time flying. It was so much easier just driving down and taking everything with us with no worries of weight or space limit!! Plus, they are really nervous about the whole thing. DH even has to take meds to get through it and I just have visions of me with the 2 kids and a ton of luggage and my loopy husband trailing along!! :rotfl2:

I'm not even sure I'll be able to let go and enjoy it all when we are there. Especially because when we get back DS(3) will be getting surgery(tonsils and adnoids removed and he has to stay in the hospital for a few days) and DH has to get an operation on his wrist(from our car accident in Sept) I will have too much on my mind.

Hopefully I'll start getting excited about this trip again. Thanks for letting me vent!

NOW DESNIK:

I just looked at the TAG that the TF gave you....remember you are suppose to love planning etc etc.... :goodvibes

I actually do feel your pain as I as well am pretty obsessive complusive about our WDW trips. I pack and unpack, schedule ADR's and cancel and reschedule...ugh...it is PAINFUL... :crazy2:

BUT the beauty of all of this is YOU and YOUR FAMILY are going to DISNEYWORLD....YEAHH!!! I guarantee when you walk into the Magic Kingdom and see the CASTLE, you will forget all the craziness of packing and flights, and ADR's!

And when you return and are faced with all the surgeries, you can all reflect on what a fabulous time you just had visiting with Mickey. ::MickeyMo

You'll do just fine, Nik. :thumbsup2 You guys really need this trip and in a few days will be skipping along in the World, enjoying it all. :cool1: Don;t forget the camera, share the magic with us when you return.

I understand, I am a compulsive planner also. Last year I drove myself crazy trying to make sure everything was perfect. My DH would make fun of all my planning-but it paid off when we were there and he said "You did a really good job of planning everything." He then agreed all my craziness was worth it. :crazy2:

Have a great trip and I wish your DH and DS the best on their surgeries.

Do you have a good packing list? I'm lost without a list. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate and you've obviously had a lot of stress leading up to this. And dreading the operations when you return doesn't help I'm sure.

I just decided a few days ago to go to WDW and I leave in 10 days. I'll be in panic mode in a week. I haven't even told my 6yo that I'm bringing him yet. I'm usually a planner, so this is very unlike me.

Make sure you wear your lime green--I'll look for you! What are your dates? I'll be there 5/3-9.

OK - here's what you do: stop planning! You've done it all - now relax! You're not "winging" it - you've made plans. Just stick with them - you'll have a good time if you just relax and go with the flow. You know you aren't like those people who go with NO plans! You're waaaay ahead of them!

Have a great time!

You've done a lot more than some other DISers and NonDISers do! Congrats on getting this far! Once you land, play up how fast you guys are already there and how much time you're saving. You can already be checked into the hotel by the time you would've made your first potty stop on the road.

My dad went on his first trip in more than 15 years last Sept. during Free Dining w/ DH, my mom, me, DBro and DD. Afterward, he told my mom he had drill sergeants in the army more lenient than me. THAT really made me feel like a heel (But only for about a second -- I KNOW it was a better trip from all my planning!).

Thank you all so much!!! You all have made me feel better, but.....
I forgot to mention that we don't have a room for the last night of the trip!!!LOL :rotfl: I'm laughing otherwise I'd probably loose my mind by now! We are DVC'ers and I couldn't get the last night we wanted and have waitlisted and nothing yet. Now I have to call eveyday till we get there! Pray that we aren't out in the street for the last night!

We will be there 4/30-5/8. I will be with a lime green backback so ya can't miss me!!! I'll probably be wearing my crocs too!!

Dan I will definately take lots of pics and post when we get back!!! :teeth:

Will you have a car? If so, at least you know you can go offsite for a night...it's not the end of the world. :) And you're at WDW, so all is good!

I need to get my lime green tags ready. :cool1:

No, no car. I just called and still nothing available. I need to go lie down!

That is exactly a very good idea. You have allot on your mind and you do NOT want to be rundown/sick before you arrive at the "WORLD". So take your multi-vitamin and get your rest. A cat-nap during the day will give you a little extra boost throughout the evening. :thumbsup2

IT IS ALL GOOD, DESNIK!!! :wave2:

I think that FW Cabins is available. At least it was online earlier today. I was in a panic because my AAA agent hadn't e-mailed me my final confimation for my last minute trip, and I was getting worried that she really hadn't confirmed with WDW on Friday (this is why I normally don't go through travel agents--I like to do it myself...). So I went onto the WDW website and plugged in my dates and the ONLY thing that came up for 5/3-9 was the Fort Wilderness Cabins. A bit too expensive for me to stay on a budget trip with only one of my kids, but it should be there for your last night.

BTW, my agent had confirmed with Disney and I'm good to go. Phew!

How about renting a car that last day and then going offsite if nothing opens up? Not the best option, but at least it is an option. I'd quickly found a Country Inn and Suites that looked nice with an outdoor pool with a waterslide, breakfast, etc that had availibility just in case my agent messed up.

Sounds to me like you've done a great job. Why not book a room somewhere for the last night such that you're not worried about that the whole time? The room you really want could open up at any time, but at least you can let that go for a bit. Have a great trip :earsboy:

:thumbsup2 After all of your planning, changing and packing you will definitely have a great time! Now its time to relax and just go with the flow.
