Hi,

I had planned a trip to Oahu for Feb 1-8/9 and had everything paid for and I was just counting down the days. Then I find out that on Jan 30th some people from our corporate office will be in town for the week and everyone needs to be there for the meetings on Wed-Fri of that week . There's some major changes for the good that are happening and that's why there comming in. We just found out about this last Friday a whole 3 weeks after I had made the plans and asked for the time off. To say I have been a little unhappy ever since would be an understatement.

Well I was talking to one of the guys today who is comming in (higher up in the company) and he was asking about how my trip plans were comming. When I explained that I was having to cancel them, because they were comming in, he told me I would do nothing of the sort and that I was excused from the meetings and to have a great time. They plan on meeting with me before I leave to fill me in on what's going on so I won't miss anything while I'm on vacation.

Apparently my boss had been working the phone lines and had already gotten permission to excuse me from the meetings and was about to tell me, but never got the chance since I found out myself.

I guess all I have left is to say Aloha and :cool1:  :cool1:

That's great. Glad to hear that there are still good bosses and companies out there.

MoniqueU,

I had already e-mailed my TA asking her if this could be moved because of business related hangups and I could have, but I would need to switch to a different hotel and not take direct flights like I wanted, plus the $$$ difference would have been like $500 more.

I guess in the end everything worked out. I will still get to sit down with them the beginning of that week and find out what changes are being made and at the same time still go on my vacation.

I'm sure after those two day's a vacation will be in order.

Good for you!!! We loved Oahu! Be sure to visit the Polynesian Cultural Center in the north of the island.

LoveWDW,

I did that 3 years ago when I went Christmas week and plan to go again, hopefully not in the rain like last time.
