I gave up waiting on summer discounts!

I've been waiting and waiting for the summer discounts for our 4th of July trip. We had booked Pop and it was $1,223 for 8 nights rack rate. I gave up waiting on the summer discounts and just rented points for Animal Kingdom Lodge instead. I'm paying $1,200 for 8 nights! Yes...I'm staying in a deluxe for cheaper than a value!

It is when you rent points from a DVC member. You pay them approx $10/point and they make the reservation for you. Check out the DVC forums and there is a whole area for rent/trade. It is a great option to stay in a villa.

OP: I too am sick of waiting for the summer discounts. I'm DVC though, and just need a couple days before our DVC stay and I want an AP rate!

That's what I want to do for our next family trip so I don't have to agonize waiting for a discount. Really want to stay at AKL or BC.

Glad to see you were able to get something at 5 months out during a holiday time! What type of unit were you able to book? Rack rate for the cheapest studio villa there is $330 July 4. You did good!
