We just took advantage of the Hartford Ding. We were hoping to travel July 29 - August 10. We ended up booking Hartford to Orlando on July 28 for $45. The biggest problem is that it is the last flight of the night 8:15 - 11:00. We booked the $119 fares to come home on Sunday August 12 on the flight that leaves at 5:05 and gets to Hartford at 7:45. The bright side of all this is that we get a few extra days in WDW and are planning to go to the Princess and Pirate Party on the 11th. Hopefully we can get a hotel room for the 29th and 10th and 11th. I am looking into POR. We stayed here last summer and liked it. Right now we are using DVC points for a stay at BWV from 7/29 - August 10. We have no more points to use right now. I also hope we don't run into a problem with DME. I have been reading that they won't take bags after 11 pm. I wonder how strict they are on the time. I know SW very often lands early. I will continue to watch and hope for better fares and times. Good luck to everyone else who is waiting.

It stinks when you need to travel on a Friday, I was running into the same problem for July 27, but the pixie dust was sprinkled on me today and I was able to get a great fare for Providence, RI to Ft. Lauderdale nonstop for $69. I'm psyched, I really didn't want to pay $158 one way or keep my current flight into MCO and have to drive 4 hours to the Port of Miami.

Congrats on the good fare down and here's hoping the return goes down.

We're flying in the opposite direction of your return flight (we're going Hartford-Orlando on August 12th, returning August 21st). Lowest it's been since they began offering through August 24th bookings for our days is $117 internet-only fare (we booked). The internet-only fares have bounced up and down and even went away for a time, but today I see they are back and at $119. Am hoping it'll drop down to $69ish each way, which is what the June Hartford-Orlando fares are at.

Guess we'll just have to wait until July's fares drop before they'll drop August's, assuming they do.
