There was a moment we thought we were going to hear the male lion roar, (even the driver thought it was going to happen) but he didn't end up doing it!

That is cool! I don't think we have ever seen the lions moving or even standing!

I had been wanting to try for a while and it didn't disappoint! Kyle ended up declaring this his fave restaurant of all the ones we went to!

We tried Yak and Yeti once and we didn't like it. But I think we need to give it another try one day.

We love Yak and Yeti so much too! That was one the one place DH insisted on eating at for our anniversary trip.

The food at Yak and Yeti sounds delicious! I haven’t been there since our first trip in 2014.

I love FOTLK but the que area is terrible. It always looks so packed and they really cram you in there.

What a wonderful Animal Kingdom evening! Glad FOP lived up to your hype for Kyle and that Yak and Yeti was a successful meal. It sounds like the park really impressed you guys....bet it wouldn't take much convincing to stay at AKL next time.

Yak and Yeti is delicious - I'm so glad you enjoyed it! It's one of my favorite restaurants at Disney and definitely my favorite at AK (and for summer trips, it's a great break in the air conditioning!).

I'm thrilled that Kyle enjoyed FoP! I'm so excited to finally experience it on our next trip! Also, to follow it with a ride on Everest?! Awesome!

What an excellent Safari! It really is a roll of the dice on how active the animals are on any given safari. It's great when you get such great views of the animals - especially the elusive lions! It's too bad the lion didn't roar for you. I got to hear the roaring lion on my 2012 trip and I still remember it seven years later!

I've never done a safari so late in the day. It was nice that the weather was cool and the sun was setting! Must have been so cool to hear the lion roar!!

I have to confess that I have never eaten at Yak and Yeti. But I have heard many good reviews on it. I really should try it sometime.

Very cool! I have never seen more that the cheetah's head poking up out of the grass near the back of the enclosure.

Also very cool. I don't remember if I have seen either of the lions moving around, but definitely not 3 of them!
Maybe the cooler temperatures gave them some energy.

It took me years to finally get to Yak & Yeti! I'm really glad I finally got to go- and hopefully you will in the future too!

It was a very cool safari just to get to see the rarer animals! I think the low temps were probably a good factor!

Glad you had a delicious meal at Y&Y! I need to get back there again, the problem with trying new restaurants is that my must do list just keeps growing and growing! lol

I feel like Y&Y is seriously underrated. It's a favorite in our family. My dad recommended it to his coworker who was asking for WDW advice, their family ended up going 3 times over the course of their trip!

January 30- Ending our day at AK!

While waiting in line to get on the safari I freaked out when I was able to snag us another FP for FoP! For as much misery as it can cost, the app can be a wonderful thing if you're willing to be persistent!

The sky was looking might beautiful in Pandora!





Unfortunately when we got there the ride was down. So we decided to head into Satuli Canteen for a snack and to wait it out a bit. I ended up trying the cheeseburger pod (as well as brought in a night blossom and the pongu lumpia from the stand outside which I have no photo evidence of).



The pod was pretty good! I agree with the reviews that say it's like a Mcdonald's cheeseburger, but it was the perfect little snack. It was also my first time trying the pongo lumpia and I really liked that as well!

After waiting a bit, FoP was back up so we headed on! Again, it was amazing!

We headed out of Pandora and stopped by the Tree of Life to watch the end of the awakenings and take some pics.











It was a really awesome day and I couldn't believe how lucky I was getting additional FPs for 3 of the big rides!

Those FOP snags are like winning the lottery! I've never been able to do it for myself but I was able to get one for my brother and his gf in January and they thought I was like a FP God haha My brother could not understand where I was getting the FPs from!

Those cheeseburger pods look so odd, but enough folks seem to like them that I may give them a try. I do love a cheeseburger (including the one at McDonalds!).

You should try it on one of your upcoming trips! Yak and Yeti is delicious (and you'll really appreciate the air conditioning in either the summer or fall heat!).

The cheeseburger pod is great if you're looking for something quick and simple. It's a solid choice at the canteen.

That app can be absolute misery to work with BUT you're right persistence pays off. I was able to get 8 FPs on my birthday trip just refreshing away! It's incredible how the times pop up and disappear just as quickly though. Ugh!

I ate at Satuli for the first time on my trip also. I ordered the chicken bowl (kid size!) and it was the perfect amount of food. Next time I definitely want to try the cheeseburger pods!
